I had to change my wedding date because my brother plays college basketball so he can’t miss a game for my wedding so instead of my original date 2-13-10 the day before valentine day and my wonderful valentine day theme I have to go with something else for March my fiance of course suggested March madness but I don’t know where to go with it. Any suggestions. I don’t want basketballs but something fun and exciting because this is the only suggestion he made so I’m trying to work with it. We have two little boys and we both played basketball so I was thinking something with the final four meaning My fiance and I and our two little boys?

Maybe you could work one of those brackets into it somehow? Like maybe the escort cards/seating arrangements. That’s the first thing that came to my mind.

how about college team names for table names, mascots for centerpieces, hotdogs, pretzels, other stadium food for cocktail hour (if you’re having one)
if you really want to do it to the max, your bms could carry little pompoms instead of bouquets? it really depends on how far you want to push it.
if your 2 little boys have a fav college team, would they prefer to wear those bball jerseys – or they sometimes have bowties, etc w/ the logo on it that could be fun too.

Do you NEED a theme? I mean, you could still possibly do what you were planning for V-day. As far as March Madness goes, I’d say using brackets would be a cute touch for seating chart or even blow one up to have your guests sign instead of a guest book. You could offer a table of bball game foods like popcorn, soft pretzels, mini hotdogs. Each of your tables could be named after a college team?

The first thing i thought of was the brackets for seating arrangements.
You could name your tables after teams or divisions or populat coaches. I personally would love to be seated at “Bobby Knight” or “Rick Pitino” lol Depending on the # of tables you are having they could be “3 point shot” “Foul Shot” “Lay Up” “Slam Dunk” (perfect for the sweetherat table)
Love the “Final Four” thing for you and your boys.
You could put “Thanks for cheering us on” on your favors

you could have a blast with the invites and probably not have to pay the typical “wedding” premium. escort / placecards could look like stadium tickets. it sounds like a real blast!

Oh and your first dance could totally be “THE BIG DANCE”! how fun!

I would err on the side of not going to all out with a theme (personal preference), but still being very memorable.
Maybe touches of color, and food choices mimic the theme, but maybe not an all out basketball court on the dance floor..or …maybe ..haha! 🙂
