September of 2014. 7 months! And all I have is a dress! No venue, no rings (aside from e-ring which I will also keep as my wedding ring), nothing! We have a very small budget. We didn’t actually SET a budget, we’re just staying as cheap as possible on every aspect. The venue we love is $450 for 8 hours. However, it has no dressing rooms, and the reception and ceremony will be held in the same room. It does have a kitchen area though! We have 80 guests. We wont have catering, I’m honestly thinking about a meatball buffet.. the MR. and I can make them a day in advance. Maybe with a couple types of meatballs and a couple types of sauces, and of course vegetable platters and fruit platters and breads. I want a simple cake, and simple mossy woodsy decorations. So basically it’s an all out DIY wedding. I’ll even be hand stamping our invitations. And RSVP will be strictly online, to save money on postage.
What I’m most worried about is.. we don’t have the time or the money to hire people to help us. It’s just way too expensive. So.. who cleans up? Who stays to make sure the venue gets secured and locked up after we’re gone? It’s not the venue, they just give us a code and we key it in to get inside and then after a certain time if we’re not keyed out it charges fees for being there late. Who sets up for us? Are these things I should do? Will me and my bridesmaids need to come in the day of to get it all ready and then go get ourselves ready? I don’t have a mom in the picture, or grandparents. Any advice?
