You can do it! You’re not planning a mid-summer wedding, hopefully great vendors will still be available. Just be as decisive as possible. Really, making this happen now will be worth much more than finding the perfect X Y and Z.

You (and your awesome MOH) can do this!!!  Are you getting married in Elyria Ohio?  How many people are you planning to invite?  What kind of feeling is your reception going to have?  My prayers are with you and your grandfather.  πŸ™‚  Take good care of yourself!  πŸ™‚

Don’t stress about the small things.  There are a lot of things that aren’t necessary but brides have been made to feel like they “need to have them”.  For example unless you have a ton of out of town guests save the dates are not necessary.  They’ve only turned into the thing to do over the past few years.

Just take one thing at a time and delegate.  The big things first: hall, food, photographer, and music.  Once those are booked you can start thinking about flowers and cake.  6 months is still a lot of time, especially because Nov isn’t busy wedding season.  You should probably start looking at dresses soon too in case you have to order.

First of all, I am so sorry about your grandfather’s health. I know it must be an emotional time. Hugs to you.

But you can TOTALLY plan your wedding in 6 months. We planned ours in 3 actually, and it was beautiful. Yes, it was stressful at times. But I am actually kind of thankful, on some levels, that I got my life back now :-). And you won’t believe the deals you may get for booking last minutes. Vendors who haven’t had the date booked are trying to fill up. Including caterers.

The other thing you could consider is getting a planner to help you. I thought I couldn’t afford one since ours was such a low budget. But getting a planner actually saved me a TON of money. She had a lot of connection and she knew which vendor wasn’t booked yet, and how to negotiate with them. It saved me a lot of stress AND a lot of money.

Look on the bright side! Your wedding is coming up in 6 months!!! I am a big fan of (almost) instant gratification :-).

Hugs.

You can TOTALLY do it. Like the others said, remember what is most important, keep your eyes on the prize, and celebrate that by thanksgiving you’ll be MARRIED!

I’m so sorry about your grandfather’s health. I’ll keep him in my thoughts!

It sounds like you’re definitely doing the right thing moving up the wedding, and I just want to reassure you that you can do it!!! Last year, my friend planned an INCREDIBLE wedding in just under 6 months. It was a blast and no less nice than weddings that have taken 3x longer to plan. So I’d suggest setting your priorities for things to do and then attacking your list one item at a time. I’m so glad for you that you have a great MOH to help out! I have another friend who planned a small, intimate ceremony in about a week due to a family member’s health, and it was still a very special day. Just remember, a wedding is whatever you make of it!

You can do it!  Just plan the big stuff first and the little things will fall into place.  Find a good planning book and use their schedule.  Good luck!

Hi, this is what I found on your city recreation page site:

Effective January 1, 2010 Rental Fees are as follows:

          Gym Rentals(East/South/West)             $40.00 per hour

South Meeting Room                              $30.00 per hour

Meeting Room with Gym Rental      additional $15.00 per hour

(East & West meeting rooms are only available with gym rental)

          Finwood Estate                                      $40.00 per hour

So for a 5 hour reception it would be $200.00 at the $40.00 per hour sites.  I would love to see a photo of Finwood Estate. lol.  Best Wishes!  πŸ™‚

You can do it and it WILL be perfect. It will YOUR wedding as long as you don’t let other people convice you to do things you don’t want to do. Have a great time super-planning!

You can definitely do it!  I planned my wedding start-to-finish in five months, so you can definitely do yours in six!  Can’t wait to hear about your progress!
