I want some honest opinions here. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to buy a clutch or purse for the wedding day. Is this really necessary?? I am thinking that having a tote bag with me would be more practical because I just don't see mysle fcarrying around a clutch all day.

Opinions for having or not having a small purse on the day of?

Do what you want. Just think about what you'd rather carry and, as long as it's doable, do it. Ignore others.

I like the idea of it. Just to have essentials there. But I won't have one (sadly). I'll be asking my MOH to take a small bag with her and store some tissues, my glasses and some tampons in it.

A clutch isn't necessary.  And you won't want to carry it around with you.  If I had one I probably would of forgotten it at the sweetheart table anyway.  If you can bring a tote and leave it somewhere or with someone that's a better idea.  A tote can fit any emergency kits or things needed for touch ups.  A clutch is cute but not as functional.

I had a tote bag at the church with me, everything I needed to get ready.  I also had a purse and an overnight bag in my car.

My mom dropped off my car at the hotel that we were staying at (containing my purse and overnight bag)

The day-of bag was taken from the church to the reception facility by another family member.

I didn't really need anything between the start of the ceremony & the end of the reception except for my hair flower & flip flops :) (for the very end of night dancing).

I had a clutch that I was going to bring, but I would have never used it.

I didn't buy one because I wouldn't use it again.  My MOH had one from her wedding that I borrowed and it was fine.  I could have done without it though... my MOH ended up carrying everything for me anyway.  Tongue out

I had one and it stayed upstairs in the bridal suite all night.  I shopped all over looking for the perfect one to match my gown, but never had a need for it on the big night.

I think I'm skipping it.  I'll make my husband (!) carry my hanky, my mom and/or MOH carry lipstick, and that's all I really need!

We're sleeping at the wedding venue (it's a hotel) though - so anything else I would usually carry (cell phone, ID) can just stay in our hotel room.

I am also skipping it. If I need anything, we are having a bathroom basket in each bathroom and we will be staying the night, so like futuremrscrawford, anything that isn't in the bathroom basket will be in our room.

I don't see the need for them...All I can imagine needing after I'm ready is lipgloss/blotting paper. So between FI and my MOH...they'll keep what I need! LOL!
