I agree. I think there is going to be a feeling of let down no matter how amazing our weddings turn out to be. My wedding is 9.5 months away and it already consumes every spare moment of my time. I think the let down will be a caused by a buildup of excitement, emotions, lack of sleep and tons of planning. I know it will be amazing because I am marrying my best friend. But I know I will feel let down because all the build up is over. I think thats what the honeymoon is for. I guess I'll have to take on another 9 month endevour after that ... can anyone say baby!!!
There was definetly a let down for me because I wasn't able to really plan or DIY anything for my wedding. I was working 70 hours a week January to April before the wedding when most things were planned so I basically had to figure things out Saturday evening or on Sunday because that was the only free time I had. So really the wedding ended up pretty basic which sort of made me sad a bit.
Plus, it could never be the way I had planned when I was little because I lost my mother in high school. So yeah...

Hive,
This post was inspired by Mrs. Lab's heartfelt post on PWD. I just wanted to start a conversation about expectations and how we can be more realistic about them while we obsess over wedding blogs.
I wanted to put a thought out there that we haven't really talked about too much on the boards. Is looking at wedding p0rn actually harmful? I mean our expectations are probably skewed by all those beautiful magazine spreads and style me pretty weddings we obsess over. But in reality, most of us do not have the money or talent to pull off those amazing fetes. That is why I love weddingbee, we get to see REAL weddings, warts and all, not "real weddings" magazine/blog features.
Does anyone else feel that we may end up comparing our weddings to an impossible standard? Sometimes I think I may be happier and less obsessive about my wedding details if I had not spent so much time looking at those perfect weddings.
All thoughts are appreciated and welcome!
