So I am having my diamond on my engagement ring upgraded and we have decided to keep my original diamond because I couldn’t let it go!
This now means I have one spare diamond. I would really like to wear my original diamond on our wedding day but I am not sure how! I have come up with a) a pendant b) an earring (so one ear would be my original diamond and the other a CZ because I can’t afford to buy another diamond!) and c) a ring
Firstly, if I went with an earring, would anyone notice that one ear has a diamond and one a CZ?
And secondly, if I went with a ring, would it be weird to wear two diamond rings on my wedding day?
If anyone has pictures of their wedding day jewellery other than their E-ring please post 🙂

@London_Bride: I’m not help with jewelry, as I’ll be going a differnt path for our wedding (probably emerald and rubies or CZ to match the christmas theme), but as far as the one diamond one cz earring combo, i think it depends on the quality of the diamond-just something to keep in mind, although even “matched” studs do have their own little differences. You might think of maybe instead of a CZ, one of those labgrown diamonds that you can pick to have a warmer color or some inclusions (remember, a CZ is going to basically look like a D or F). I think if I were in your shoes, the pendant would sound like the most doable option. Plus, it’s classic and simple and will look great for your wedding, and you can wear it again in the future.

@London_Bride: I wouldnt make earrings out of one diamond and one different stone, but that’s just me. I would choose a necklace, and set it so it is part of the chain if that makes sense. I used this sample photo from blue nile to make a morganite necklace. I dont like the look of pendants or charms (am I making sense??). Tiffany’s diamonds by the yard idea is another good one, and a jewler should be able to make you a necklace OR a bracelet.

I pick ring or necklace for your original diamond. I would choose whatever I would wear more often after the wedding. For my wedding, I wore a pearl necklace/bracelet and earrings that were made from a large string of pearls that were my grandmother’s. I also wore a diamond bracelet that I got for my 21st birthday. My mom had the clasp made into a pendant and wore it on the day. I also wore a diamond ring on my right hand that has my grandmother’s diamond in it from her ring. I had both my e-ring and my wedding band blessed and my husband put both on my left hand during the ring exchange.

@luna_c my diamond is a f-g colour so it should look fine as earrings, plus I would probably have my hair down so would anyone really notice?
@wrkbrk yep that does make sense, and it would definately look classic!
@mrsacornblue thats a nice idea! After the wedding I would either wear a ring or a necklace. I would love to design a completely different ring with my diamond but I don’t think we would be able to afford that right now, especially with the cost of the wedding etc.
I am more leaning towards the necklace or ring..or maybe have it set in a necklace then turn it into a ring after the wedding. I am just thinking, if I wore a RHR on my wedding day, where would my E-ring go since you are meant to wear it on your right hand then switch to left after you are married?

I would choose a pendant, but a RHR is nice as well. At my wedding, I kept my engagement ring on my left hand, he put the wedding band on and I just switched them to the right order after the ceremony. No one noticed but us.

@London_Bride: i would make a simple pendant and wear it on your wedding day. not to mention it would be something you could wear often.
i wouldn’t make an earring. it’s better to wait and buy a pair of diamonds for earrings (better price).

I would make it into a pendant. I feel like earrings are one of the easier pieces of jewelery to lose, I think it’s sort of weird to have 1 diamond earring and 1 cz earring, and I like the idea that with a pendant you’re wearing your stone close to your heart.

I would make it into a pendent.

I agree with most of the people here. Having a pendent would be a nice option and if I was in your place I do this only. Having pendent of CZ will not put you any embarrassing situation. Last year I had customized a diamond pendant from Midwest Jewellery . Have a look…
