I always keep my nails super short and never wear polish, but I think I'm going to have a natural-colored polish put on my nails the day before the wedding. I have a white spot on one nail where I hit it on lord knows what that won't be grown out in the next week and 1/2. So polish is a good solution to cover that up.
I say do what makes you comfortable. If you don't like French manicures, then don't get one! You want to look like yourself on your wedding day. :)
I always have a french manicure and my pedi color is usually one pinky red OPI color.
This is one of my daily must-have's and really my only nod to being in any way or sort of ever being considered high maintenance. (well then again... wink) Plus T absolutely adores when my nails are manicured and my toes look lovely..
I am with you on the french manicure - I love them on other people but for some reason feel like they don't look right one me. It may be because my nails are always pretty short. I just picked a sort-of natural color, a gold-ish. In my pictures, you can't really tell that I'm wearing anything unless it's close up.
I never wear polish and keep my nails short, but I'll be doing a french manicure because it's subtle and pretty. For my toes, I'm doing pink :)
I like short nails with a neutral pinky color. My fave is OPI's Bubble Bath - supposedly that's what Giada uses on her nails, and it always looks great!
I used a pinkish color (can't remember the name) for my hands and a deep red (OPI Cognac) for my toes. It was my first time getting my nails done and it has been my favorite color choices since.
I will have the same nails I always have pink and white nails that my nail salon has to do. I cannot grow nails they get so flimsy!
I am taking prenatal vitamins so that my hair and nails will look their best on my wedding day (my doctor suggested this). Planning to do a nice subtle french manicure. No plans for a baby just yet, so my fiance is really amused by my vitamins :)
I'm planning on doing french manicures, but I think I'm going with the shortest they have. I can't stand long nails that get in the way of everyday tasks!
I keep my nails short and hardly ever wear polish, but I'm going to do short-ish French acrylics for the wedding. I'm doing this because polish peels off my nails in seconds! The only way to know they'll last all day is if I get acrylics, and I don't particularly care for the look of solid color acrylics. I'm hoping to do a very natural look, but I'd rather go a little more glam than my taste than have chipped polish!
For my toes, I'll probably do red, since they won't show in my shoes, and FI loves red "shrimps" (that's what he calls my toes because they're always curled, haha).
I don't know what color I'm wearing yet, but I am wearing colored polish. I haven't worn a French manicure in years, so I don't want to sport that look on my wedding day.
Ah! I must be the lone "Nothing" vote! I never wear nail polish, so I won't be for the wedding either. My nails always look really great, they grow strong etc and every time I've put nail polish on them they peel and crack and look terrible. Maybe I've just used cheap nail polish in the past....but I'm going to keep on with the au naturale look :)
I think I'll use the "nail look" I feel most confortable with which is a french manicure or a clear polish, because I think I should look like myself (except, hopefully, a little bit better, haha!)
I thought about this for a while because everyone was telling me to do either a french mani or light pink, but I NEVER wear my nails like that, so I was torn. Everyone's telling me that I'll regret going with a dark color, but I decided to. I'm doing a black and white theme with my wedding day attire (white, tea-length dress, black shoes, sash, and a white and dark purple bouquet). So I'm going with my signature color, which is Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI. I'm pretty happy with my decision. I think it'll look really cool.
I do not wear make-up, nail polish, or lots of hair product in real life, so I'm not doing any of it for my wedding day. =)
If I do anything, I'll have some cover-up/foundation for blemishes, MAYBE some lip gloss, and my hair will have some mousse and hairspray in it, but hopefully not much (I'm doing it myself, and if anyone does my "make-up" it'll be my younger sister). I probably won't get my nails painted just because I can never get the polish to go on nice and smooth, and there's no way I'm shelling out $$$ on a manicure/pedicure. If my toenails are looking really bad I'll wear the fake nails I bought once for $10 but never wore (and only 'cause I'm going barefoot am I even considering this).
Try just a neutral color on your nails; just to even them out and make them look clean and polished. The way they wont stand out and you won't feel uncomfortable if you usually dont wear nail polish with a natural color.
I got a French manicure using OPI's "Coney Island Cotton Candy". I insisted on a thin white line at the tips. ;o)
Definitely go with what makes you feel comfortable, though.
i'm doing french. that's just because i'm only a fan of french polish or black. and i'm def not doing black.
I just want something pretty and simple, probably classic red. I don't wear fake nails or French now, so I don't think I will just because it's the wedding day.
I'm doing french on my nails, which I usually splurge on for special events. I have long, strong nails AMEN and the french look totally works for me. I'll probably do a deep red on my toes.

Just wondering what everyone is doing/did for their nails. I never wear nail polish on my fingernails, but I figured something might be appropriate for the wedding day. I have pretty good/proportionate white parts at my tips, so I'm thinking just clear. But I'm wondering if that'll look weird in photos (not that I'll have tons of my hands or anything). I feel like french manicures look really unnatural on me, but maybe are better for the wedding day? I don't know...
