I initially was going to wear really sexy underwear because I thought it was be nice for later in the evening, but I realized that I would be having quite a few people around when I was getting dressed, therefore I preferred something that covered a bit more. I wore Victoria Secret lace boyshorts/hip huggers whatever they call them. Oh, and a shower for both of us was definitely necessary before any intimate time, so it really didn't matter in the end (as long as you can't see them through the dress!)
'Regular' undies for me. I actually found some that go a little higher, I don't remember the brand, but they're 'no muffin top' panties. It smooths where I need it to but I can move and breath in them unlike Spanx.
Definitely fit & comfort come first, since you'll mostly likely shower or at least change and can put fancy stuffs on later ;)
