Candy buffet jars- I HIGHLY reccomend Michaels- get the apothecary jars, they have lots of different sizes and shapes. Buy 1 at a time with the 50% off coupon that's emailed just about every week. :o) Mine cost less than $10 each with that method!
Good luck and welcome to another Arizona Bride. Check out the Phoenix Meet Up http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/phoenix-brides-meet-up Just in case you want a change of scenery!
The best place for candy bar jars is Homegoods, for sure.
As for mercury glass, a lot of stores had it for the holidays (Pottery Barn, Target, ZGallerie, etc.), so check out clearance racks. Good online places for mercury glass are jamaligarden.com or lunabazaar.com (in candle holders, though some of the holders are large enough to be vases).
Yes they are and I have been hitting the stores clearing out what I can find. Right now my main hunt is for the mason jars and take out containers. I will def. be selling stuff after the wedding so be on the look out....
If you are just looking for standard size/clear mason jars, check out Wal-mart: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8033243&sourceid=1500000000000003260370&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=8033243.
For takeout containers, I have seen them at Michael's and Party City. Also, Paper Mart has takeout containers in all different colors and materials. http://www.papermart.com/Home.aspx
