There can be as many decorations as you want or  none at all. most people put something on the cake table, guest book table, escort card table. We had a sweetheart table so I made that different and had more on it. I hung lanterns behind our table. You don’t have to do any of that though.

Often there is something added to the guestbook, gift, and cake table, maybe something on the bar.

At the entrance to the  reception, there is sometimes a display that relates to the theme of the wedding.

At the ceremony, pew/aisle decor, and somthing in the altar area.

Lol, I thought the same thing when I started planning!  The bees above have great suggestions.  Alos, in some blog posts, I’ve seen couples hang decorations from the ceiling of the venue.  Ours is a hotel and pretty well decorated already so here’s what I’m planning:

Ceremony – aisle runner lined with rose petals, cute signs for reserved seats.

Reception – bouquets in vases for the escort card table, gift table, cake table, and the area around the guest book. Signs directing guest what part of the hotel to go to for wedding events.
