Hey Ladies- how is everyone’s planning going? I wanted to share some of the progress I’ve made with mine. Everything is REALLY starting to come together!! Since my venue is turn of the century we’re going with a loosely based Gatsby theme. Colors will be gray, rose, silver accents and small navy accents.
Reception Hall- Turn of the century venue
Save the Date- my guy designed them, we had them printed & we used vintage stamps
Sweetheart Table Inspiration. I plan on getting a two macaroon towers for our dessert table as well.
Some of the items I have that I’m using to achieve the above
Escort Card Runner- here it is unsewn, but it gives you the idea. I’ve already sewn it together
Handkerchief for my arras coins (spanish tradition)- my mother actually made this lace herself and did all the embroidery. The woman is SO talented.
Cake- I am doing this exactly. My bakery is a family run business 30+ years in SoHo New York. We went with buttercream, vanilla sponge & nutella mousse. The other layer will be chocolate with raspberry mousse. YUM.
My birdcage. We lined the bottom with moss and wove antique lace through the top. We thought it came out cute. Might use the smaller one for a floral arrangement.
Table Numbers- I’m putting them on regular table stakes, which I bought in the wholesale restaurant district in the Bowery, Manhattan. The numbers are German glitter glass from BHLDN, which were on sale. Woop, woop!
My mother INSISTED on making my veil. SO, we went into the garment district in Manhattan and got silk tulle and French lace from Sposabella Lace. She spent a few months making this. Excuse my dumb casual self, lol.

I’m going for this sort of vibe with hair-
Here is the pic from my hair trial last week. BOOKED!
MOH is wearing this. I have no bridal party.
Ring & arras bearer nephews will be like this only with gray slacks, bow ties, no suspenders. One is 7, the other is 5.
Ring bearer pillow- saw this in Martha Stewart Weddings and HAD to make my own!
Invite- we are letterpressing the blue and offset printing the other colors on a nice thick, duplexed stock. We also have a hangtag that says “You are invited” that we will tie the whole thing up in with bakers twine in navy/white. They should be done this week. I am excited to see the result!
I also did some moss covered initials for one of the fireplace/mantles in my venue & I need to do my favors which will be homemade infused vodka, which I need to wait on, as the infusion takes about 2 months. I did however purchase the TWO cases of vodka over the weekend! My guy will also design escort cards, programs & random signage throughout. WHEW. SO much and there is still MORE! I’m happy with how everything is coming along and the cohesion. How is everyone else going with their planning? Is it all coming together?
