@elliptical2013: My Mum fell over, quite badly. Not a massive disaster, but I felt so bad for her on all the days for that to happen.

@elliptical2013:

I didn’t have seats for 2 guests because of an oversight (mostly my fault). One of them was my cousin. So awkward. They were jut standing for a while.

That’s a pretty lame disaster haha sorry…

My veil that my mom had worn at her wedding fell off when I got to the end of the aisle. Dad tried to reattach it for a quick moment, but discovered the threads had broken at reattachment point. I just handed it to him and we continued with the ceremony.

That was pretty much it! I’m sad I don’t really have any photos wearing mom’s veil but I was wearing her pearls so that was nice 🙂

@elliptical2013:  I can share a pre-wedding disaster. My coworker recently got married, and she had all of her bridal party (8 BMs, I think?) come over to her house to get ready. Her main bathroom was being renovated, so they only had one bathroom between all of them. Then the toilet overflowed all over the basement (apparently some of the ladies were on the floor cleaning it up!) and there was no bathroom for 9 ladies!

well i dont have a wedding disaster from my wedding since it hasnt happened yet….but i have a few from my friends wedding. Quite a few things happened that day and it all started with her nightmare of a hair dresser.

1. Hairdresser was supposed to be at her house at 8:30 am. At 9:15 and numerous calls to this girl she finally texts bride back….got pulled over be there in 10 min.

2. She shows up to the brides house without an assistant after the bride specificallly asked her to bring one bc 10 girls needed to be done.

3. She walks into the house with a bag of hair stuff just thrown in there…(realizes..ready for this…that her dog PEED on the bobby pins) goes out to car and realizes she doesnt have any more bobby pins. Luckily the brides mother was getting her hair done at a salon and was able to ask the lady doing her hair if she can have a few boxes of pins to bring home.

4. Hairdresser was clearly on some type of drug. Her eyes her all messed up and she was talking a mile a minute and she couldnt even focus on doing anything.

5 Tells us a story how her parents right before she came to do our hair did a drug intervention with her and she flipped out and walked out of her house. This is when she started hysterical crying.

fast foward 3 hours……she only did 3 girls hair. 7 left including the bride. Wedding is at 230. Pictures were supposed to be at 1.

6. the photographer was trying to explain to her the situation of time and she started yelling at the photographer making everyone completely uncomfortable.

7. Noone was getting their hair done the way they wanted but figured at this point dont say anything bc the bride still needed her hair done.

fast foward 2 more hours its now 1:00pm….now only a total of 5 girls hace their hair done.

Cant take pictures bc no one is done..so the bride couldnt get her first look with her hubby and all the bridal party pictures done before the wedding.

3:00 NOW….1/2 LATE for wedding and brides hair just getting done. the other bridesmaids just curled their hair with curling iron or just went to the wedding with hair straight.

during the cocktail hour the brides hair fell out so she just wore it down the rest of the night.

Then at the end of the night the reception place forgot to put out her dessert tables. Poor Girl she was so upset. I felt terrible for her the whole night.

We had our wedding reception outside at our home and rented a huge tent. It rained a bit during supper, but nothing serious. At about 10 pm when it got dark out, our photographer asked us to do the sparkler shot before she left. My DH went in to get the sparklers.

My bridesmaids, our photographer and I all went out to a darker part of the lawn and it just started to POUR! so we started going back to the tent and the wind picked up. I looked at the tent and it looked like it was going to blow away. I ran to the tent and looked around, all my guests were holding onto the sides to keep the tent from being blown away.

I saw my brother at one side holding onto the ceiling of the tent because the posts that keeps the ceiling together came out. I tried to help put the post back in but someone came over and got me out of the way saying that I would ruin my dress. oops. Then I went over and hung onto another side of the tent until the best man yelled at everyone to get out of the tent. I had about 120 people in my house/garage.

One of the groomsmen and our officiant went around and retightened all the straps holding the tent down because they had all come loose and they put a chain around a tree because one of the iron posts that they put in the ground had completely come out. Many others had moved about 1 foot and come out about 1 foot. It was insane!

I thought for sure our reception was over but thankfully, the weather calmed down and everything was able to start up again 🙂 Now, everyone says that they will never forget our wedding! We were extremly lucky that no one got hurt.

@elliptical2013:  I think she had mirrors elsewhere in the house. All I know is the bride and her BMs all looked great in the pictures that I saw. So luckily, it didn’t have a lasting effect on her day!

@elliptical2013:  oh i will def have a plan b if soemthing goes wrong w the hair dressers at my wedding. Luckily there is a salon in the hotel we re getting ready at so Im not too worried about that. lol i know the bride got some sort of refund for the deserts but idk about the hair dresser bc 2 weeks later the hair dresser left for rehab. (she is a girl we know from town) so who knows what happened. I guess i should ask her.

@elliptical2013:  Thanks! when it was happening I was standing in my kitchen so sad that it would all be done at 10:30 pm. A lot of people left, those with small children that got scared, etc. But, after talking to a lot of people and hearing different things that were happening, it just turned out to be a really funny story!! 🙂
