- Wedding: October 2013 - Tybee Island, GA
soo… i am along with many many women out there getting married. I am getting married on October 26th this year. I was very nervous yet VERY anxious about trying on wedding dresses. (what under garments to wear, what to expect). So after i read a couple (ok about 20 WB boards) i decided to be little with my group i decided to take along and just took my aunt and my cousin (MOH). and googled EVERY bridal shop around in Georgia… the first one i went to was in Centerville, GA. Destiny’s Boutique. When i went in i was nervous. I had printed out pics of what i was looking for, (lace, fitting, but fun). So the lady helping me, she took a total of 5 minutes before she started finding dresses i may like. (which helped me out alot). I tried on the first one which was an A-line mermaid dress that was lace and fitting and very fitting, and at the bottom was ruffles galore! I got in that dress and absolutley fell in love. I tried on a few more, and none of them compared. but i still couldnt commit, because it was my first try ons… So i had a David’s Bridal appointment next that same day, and that experience was just….. BLAH. We got in there and i had gave them my list of favorites, and they told ME to go pick out what dresses i wanted… Which didnt help me out at all, because they were stuffed in begs :/ so finally i told one of the consultants i needed help, and she took over. We still had to sit a good 30 minutes before i could try any on because my consultant was busy with 2 other brides. (which is understandable) so finally i got to try some on and none, once again, compared to THE ONE i had tried on earlier, and the consultant was very pushy “Is this YOUR dress”? after EVERY dress! so i finally gave up after about 20 dresses all-in-all and went back to Destiny’s and tried it back on and knew it was the ONE!! i purchased it and the next day i was down there again getting it altered. (i’m short!) LOL. but that was my dress shopping experience, and i know i was looking for this kind of post before i went shopping that day… so i hope this helps some of you:) Just remember, you will know THE ONE when its on… whether it’s the first one, or the 20th… it’s a great experience and having a little entourage helps! nobody is headbutting at all.
