I bought my dress in late April 2013. It was nice to get one thing crossed off the list. However, it’s not an Alfred Angelo. 🙂

One thing I did learn though is that a consultant may ask the manager in front of the client when a dress would get discontinued. They said they’d discontinue my dress end of May. Er, it IS still on the website.

@Minniemousie1:  I purchased my gown what I thought was going to be a year in advance. We eloped 9 months after I purchased the gown, but I never had a second thought! And I know you won’t either. That dress is to die for!

I am also getting married in September 2014!

I have been ready to purchase a dress since June but have been waiting because I haven’t found quite what I am looking for. I really don’t think it’s early at all. I think it’s amazing that you have found what you love and can imagine it to be such a relief! I think your dress is gorgeous!

Way to go! 🙂

I am getting married in October 2014 and purchased my dress about 2 weeks ago…but it won’t be coming in until the end of November/December…and I basically bought it without trying it on!  I think a year in advance having it in-hand is pretty good.  Gives you time for alterations and what not.  🙂

@simondress:  I have been able to find a good selection of dresses but they are just not quite what I wanted. I do find (and I’m not sure if it’s just the samples) that a lot of dresses are quite disappointing in person! In photos they look amazing but in person they do not have the wow factor.

Besides Alfred Angelo I have been looking into Allure, Mikaella, Stella York, Essence of Australia, Casablanca. Hope that helps!

@simondress: I’m not sure that I could do it myself. I appreciate the experience of trying on dresses, feeling them, looking at the stitching closeup. But as long as you find a reputible website and are able to return it if it doesn’t work out, I can’t see why not.

@Minniemousie1:  So lovely! Don’t worry about being ahead of the game, I bought my dress 1 year before my wedding! It looks amazing!!!!!! Wonderful choice!
