From what I've heard I think Marilynns is good but overpriced. I used Elizabeth at Just Lovely Fashion Alteration in Ventura and loved her! She bustled both layers of my dress, took it in and did a few minor tacks here and there and it cost me about $150 which I felt was reasonable considering my dress was lace appliqué and thus pretty delicate! She did a nice job and I would recommend her.
I had the alterations done in LA, but Mercedes Trump pressed my gown in SB before my wedding. She did a good job and I've heard good things about her alterations. I think she's kinda $$$ though.

Hello Bees,
I fell in love for the second time (the first time with my fiance) when I found my dress! I bought it at a store in LA, but it's going to be shipped to their sister store in Santa Barbara. However, after reading all the yelp/google reviews, I don't think I want to go there anymore since a lot of people didn't have good things to say about them (MariLynn's).
First, did anyone here have a positive experience there?
Second, do you have a good recommendation on where I can take my dress to get altered?
Thank you!!
