I used a woman named Celia, who works from her home. She did an excellent job and was very professional and sweet.
This is her phone number: (619) 252-9318
I used Lulu Gallegos. She also works out of her house and is AMAZING. She makes custom dresses, can completely deconstruct and reconstruct exhisting dresses into masterpieces. her website doesn't do her work justice: http://www.sewingbylulu.com/
She altered my rehearsal dinner dress- cut off the sleeves, made it racer back, upped the hem.
My wedding dress was by Pronovias and all lace and organza with a 12 foot train. Lulu went to town and made the dress perfect! I added bra cups, hemmed the bottom, and a 9 point french bustle (most are 3-5). Even with my insanely long train, the dress bustled perfectly and looked as if the train wasn't even there, which was great for the reception! She also made my veil- simple fingertip length and charged less than HALF what a normal salon would for the same piece.
I got my dress altered at Bridals by Susanti in Escondido.
Hannah is careful and deliberate with alterations; she pays attention to what you want and she really knows what she is doing. She helped fix some of the alterations mistakes that a seamstress at a different salon made on my dress. I highly recommend Hannah.

Could you please let me know if you have any recommendations for wedding dress alterations/seamstress in the San Diego area? Thanks!
