I’ve been to two salons and the appointments were free. I assume this is the case anywhere, but I could be wrong!

I’ve never paid for an appointment.  Some places state you need an appointment and others just let you in whenever.   Do not hand over any money until you are purchasing your dress.

@smiley90: You don’t part with any money until you choose and put a deposit down. Make appointments and try on loads of different dress including different material, detail, cuts etc and ENJOY.

No I’ve never heard of just an appointment costing money.

However, I did hear a rumor that Kleinfelds takes credit card information from you when booking an appointment and will charge it if you don’t show up to the appointment.

Kleinfeld will charge you $50 if you don’t cancel within 48 hours.  But they’re super clear about it.  I got my dress from there and wouldn’t have had to pay a thing for the actual appointment, but I did buy my dress 🙂
