It looks beautiful! Don't judge your gown against pictures only compare it to other dresses you have tried on. After I bought my gown I used to watch SYTD and fall in love with a gown until I realized that I tried that particular dress on and hated its.
I agree with the poster above me only compare your dress to other dresses you tried on. Sometimes when you see a dress on a website or in a mag it doesn't look the exact same way on you or even on a girl whose body is like the models in reality. I think the lighting in those pro pics really changes things a lot. You dress is beautiful and you look very good in it so don't have regrets.
I think it looks beautiful on you.......I dont know your personality but it looks like ot suits you SO well.
@chastetiltuesdayFB: I love that. It's a beautiful dress, love the shape and the sparkle. Really suits you.
@roxy821: Why do we do this to ourselves??? I didn't care for Adorae for many reasons I won't go in to but my mom loved and all of you bees look so lovely in it, I keep thinking I made a mistake. Then I remember all the reasons, so frustrating!
@Treejewel19- Because we love to torture ourselves to ensure we made the right decision lol. I had dress regreat until that day and I never felt more beautiful in my life than on my wedding day.
Hello, all my fabulous Wedding Bees!
Thank you SO MUCH for reminding me that this is a rather normal reaction to buying one of the most important purchases related to our wedding. I'm sure I'll go back in six months for my first fitting and find true love all over again!
One thing I may do, just in case, is consider a reception gown -- if the satin turns out to be too hot/heavy on a warm May day it will give me the chance to have a bit of the traditional lace look in my wedding.
Thanks again -- SO appreciative to all who took time to comment!
Beautiful dress and it looks great on you. As a veteran of dress regret, I can say that I've experienced both actual regret where I went and bought a new dress because of it and also that "oh crap I just spent a ton of money and this is it did i do the right thing?" brain garble. It happens, but I am glad that this post has made you feel better about your decision. It looks like you made a good one!
I think you look great in your wedding dress and I wouldn't worry too much about making your dress fit the venue, as long as the dress suits you and your sense of style it will be perfect. I am getting married at Willowdale about 6 months after you, and although it has a garden and is not a super formal venue, the building is lovely and classic so a little bling won't look out of place at all. As far as the concern about satin on a warm day, I would say that May 13th in the Boston area has a 50% chance of being in the low 70s and sunny and a 50% chance of being in the 50s and cloudy. Unless you're way under budget, I wouldn't worry about spending money on a reception dress when there's a 50% chance you'll be uncomfortable in your satin dress. Besides, from the look of your dress, there are not a ton of crinolines in it and when I was trying on dresses, those were what seemed to make me the warmest. Good luck!
@liztownA2: Thank you!! And congrats on your wedding, too! :)

Hi, All:
Moving very fast with wedding planning after just getting engaged a few weeks ago (YEA!!!), I found my perfect venue (Willowdale Estate) and the perfect day and then I went looking for the perfect dress.
Originally, I figured I'd want a very loose dress, with lots of movement at the bottom. I guess I wanted the standard garden wedding dress with light layers and flowers.
But what I really wanted? I wanted BLING! I'm a girl known for adornment and I loved the vintage hollywood look, so I thought dress with bling...subtle shine, and sparkly.
After 3 different wedding dress appointments, I went to the last one still a bit unsure of which way to go when they pulled out this dress. I immediately fell in love with her, signed on the dotted line and made her mine.
However, I keep going back and forth about her -- I love her, then I see something more traditional and think I should have gone with the lace, flowery ensemble.
Now: For a vintage, mansion/courtyard/tented pavilion wedding in early May, what do you think?
[Please note: This was not my dress size (and the colorI chose is ivory cream), but the dress will look more like this when on: http://bit.ly/jP96yq]
