I did the strapless corset bra thing from David’s and added chicken cutlets, did you try those? They are kind of magic. The alterations people also told me that a lot of that will be fixed in alterations when they take in the top a bit. If you’re not happy with David’s (they are definitely hit or miss) I will swear by the Nordstom lingerie departments. Have them do the measurement in the dressing room, topless, and explain what you need. It’s awkward, but very accurate, and the woman can help you find exactly what you’re looking for.

I am slightly biased because when I was measured I went from a 34/36 B to a 32 D. Exciting! Most women are wearing the wrong size bra apparently, and I know I am much much more comfortable in my new bras. And once I knew my correct size, the David’s corset bra thing (still with cutlets) fit much better and gave me a much better shape.

Honestly, I LOVE Victoria’s Secret bras. Have them measure you, then get a miraculous push up. They fit. They stay up. They’re convertable. You definitely won’t find better quality.. Especially not from David’s Bridal! I hated that stupid thing they wanted me to buy.

Have you thought of investing in a real steel boned corset? Your the ideal cupsize to get one without having to go all out on a custom fit. They support your bust like no tomorrow and can give such a lovely shape (I have a few myself and am getting one made to fit under my dress.) What Katie Did seem to have good reviews form other bees on the boards 🙂

@MrsSmith13:  They’re silicone inserts you put into the cup of your bra, under your breasts. They give you an extra cup size or so, and lift your boobs so… cleavage!!! The silicone has a similar feel to real breasts–it bounces properly and all that–and it isn’t super heavy. They look like cut up chicken breasts or something though. I got mine at David’s, but they sell them in lingerie and bathing suit departments at most department stores. They are a magical wonderful thing.

@Jessy727:  It made a huge difference for me. The dress sort of smushed everything down, and I don’t have a lot in the first place. The cutlets hold their shape and keep everything from mooshing down and sideways.

I am about to go into my first fitting tomorrow and don’t have any of my under garmets yet.. I never thought about doing a VS bra, that is a great idea.  I feel the bridal stores push so hard to get their bra because the make mucho profit from it.  I need to buy a hoop for my dress but am trying to find one on craigslist or something for a much cheaper price.

You should go to any local lingerie shop and ask for a non-foam longline bra. (Non-foam because the foam adds about 1/2 to 1 inch to your overall diameter… why would you do that to yourself?)

Went for my fitting-  I get to return all the stuff I bought, I won’t need any of it!! They are just going to sew cups into my bust area for some lift and I will be all set!

I ordered the felina corset (what they use at davids bridal) and another highly reviewed one corset type bra with boning. There was a special or a coupon or something at bare essentials and her room, discount-yeah!  Bummed because I’d wished I’d been able to try on my size bra at davids, but they didnt carry my size. Anyways, I tried on both with the dress and took pics with and without the bra, they didnt do much for me 🙁 and I could not breathe and I felt like they gave me extra girth in the middle-oh no!

sadly- i think i might go with the tape on kind or have some maybe added to the dress, like others have mentioned here. Good luck.
