I did WedClean and I loved the results. They cleaned my veil, shawl, and even shoes. Still, I thought it was pretty expensive.
I would love to hear this also because my dress is just sitting in around letting the stains set in. Thanks!
used Wedclean and loved it. I also was skeptical about mailing my dress into a company and did ALOT of research.
They notified me when they shipped the box, after I packed it, I had a tracking # to make sure it got to their company safely and then they notified me when my dress was being shipped back to me. (For what it's worth, I did not purchase any extra shipping insurance for this process).
My dress was mermaid-shaped and dragged all over NYC's meatpacking area right after a heavy summer storm. The ceremony was also outdoors in a park. To be honest, my dress was filthy by the end of the night, especially the underside of the train.
Then smart me, I waited 3 months to actually get it cleaned. It was hanging in a plastic garment bag during that time.
Wedclean was able to remove all the stains, with exception of 2 faint marks on the underside of the train. They are about an inch in length each and light grey in color and not noticeable.
I highly recommended Wedclean to my 2 other gfs who got married this summer. And if you are in the NYC are, I received a $15 discount card from them, which you can have. Just PM me.
GL!
There's another post on this with a good review from Mrs. Tomato and what I consider a mixed review from someone on the knot boards: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/wedclean
I decided yesterday to use them, so I ordered my box and I'm going to post my review on here as well.
I used the Affordable Preservation Company (www.affordablepreservation.com) and would highly recommend them. It was only $129 for everything including my veil, gloves and shawl, as well as shipping and insurance. After I placed my order I received a confirmation email. The next day I received a tracking number for the kit they send (basically a box and prepaid shipping label).
After I sent in my gown, I received a confirmation email they had received it and another email with a tracking number when it was on the way back. There was also an 800 number to call for status over the phone.
My gown came in a very nice white preservation chest with a window. There is also an outer box to protect it from light, dirt, etc. They also included some gloves in case I wanted to inspect it (which does not void the guarantee). It was packaged so nicely I didn't want to mess it up so I didn't open it, but it looks so beautiful!
Overall I loved how my dress came back and the great customer service.
I sent mine to Affordable Preservation company. They did a great job and were so quick!
It looks like it is $149 w/Affordable Preservation now. Anyone find any good coupons for them?
Just checked their site and they are still $149 - I don't think they offer any coupons. I've referred lots of friends to them and everyone has been really happy with their service too.

Recommend your dress cleaning / preservation company (or share your horror stories and companies to avoid~!)
I've done a bit of research and am leaning towards Wedclean but I would love to hear anyone's experience with them or another wedding dress cleaning company (j scheer is way more expensive than wedclean and I wonder if it is worth the extra $$$)
Thanks Hive!
