I am having a dilemma with my wedding dress. I bought it in January and haven’t tried it on again since then. I absolutely loved it when I tried it on in the shop, it was the first dress that made me feel really happy and beautiful (and I tried on about 50 dresses!). It is a maggie sottero one-of-a-kind, which I bought off the rack (on sale).
I had my sister take a few pictures after we took it home. I’ve looked at the photos about a million times and now I am really starting to doubt my dress! I am worried it is too fluffy and that I don’t pull of the princess dress.
I don’t know what to do – I DID love my dress, but now I am terrified that everyone at the wedding will think my dress is ridiculous. I’m not a very confident person, so I’m now thinking I should have bought something that was more simple and modest.
I am going to see the alteration lady on Friday. I hope that when it is hemmed it looks neater. To me, it looks messy and doesn’t sit beautifully on the ground like other dresses do. Maybe this is part of the design and it is meant to sit like this. I’m also wondering if the skirt would sit more neatly if I was wearing a hoop underneath. Also, the photos were taken after the dress had been in the bag so it looks a bit flat. It looked a lot fuller and better when I tried it on in the shop.
Here are some links to pictures of me in my dress:
I would love some really HONEST opinions. Do I look silly in my big princess-y dress!? There is only 3 months until my wedding, and I have no idea what I’m going to do about my dress!! What would you do?? I’m not sure whether I should look for a new dress, or try to love the dress I already have (that I DID love when I first tried it on). Please help me!

You look gorgeous! I think it might need some steaming or something because you’re right, the bottom doesn’t lay flat but that could also be because it needs altering. Since it’s a different material than my dress, I can’t really say from experience but I’m sure your seamstress can fix it up beautifully!

I think it’s a wonderful dress and looks fabulous!

You look beautiful. When it is hemmed, it will fall correctly and lose the “messiness”. Try standing on a couple phone books and you’ll see what I mean.

Thanks girls for the reassurance! I am starting to feel like I did make the right choice after all!
I just rang the shop and she said they MIGHT be able to exchange it if I really do decide that I don’t like it… She also said that this style of dress needs to be worn with a hoop underneath to make the skirt sit nicely, so that is probably why I don’t like it so much in the photos.
Hopefully when I try it on again with a hoop on Friday at my fitting, I will fall in love with it again!!
Here are a couple more pics of the dress. I’m trying to decide what sort of accessories to have in my hair and on my jewellery. What do you think?

I think it’s a great dress on you! Also, IMO not everyone looks good in a strapless and they can be hard to “do” for many, but it compliments your shape perfectly!
I would go for some floral hair accessories… the little hair pins or whatever they are called, something small and delicate. Or maybe a small headband

24 hours after my first post – and I’m still worried! Is this normal??
I feel like I keep changing my mind – one minute I love the dress, the next I hate it. I can’t focus on the other wedding tasks I have to do because I just keep worrying about my dress!
Did anyone else doubt their decision this much??
It’s only 3 months to go – is that even enough time to change my mind????
