I love wearing skirts and dresses, but I am definitely not a girly girl either. I hadn’t put that much thought into what I wanted to wear on my wedding day, but I definitely was drawn to different styles for different reasons.
When I was a young girl, I loved the movie Beauty and the Beast, and I thought, that was the wedding dress of my dreams!
Fast forward 15 years and I wouldn’t say my personality and style is quite “princess” enough to handle a full ball gown with pick ups. I imagined, something similar to this:
Unfortunately, that style of dress made me look like I was going to my First Communion. Which isn’t exactly the look I am going for on my wedding day. I wanted something that would flatter my curves and that would make my FI’s jaw drop.

I never really had a “dream dress” since I was little or anything, but I did love my aunt’s wedding gown when I was like 4. It was huge, ruffled, and had poofy sleeves (haha). Definitely not my taste now.
Toward the beginning of my shopping I thought I wanted something very simple, few to no embellishments, white or ivory, no embroidery, maybe a sparkly belt. Kind of like this…
I actually tried this one on plus a similar one but they didn’t look so great on I desperately wanted the pockets that one of them had.
Instead I ended up with this…
It is not plain, has embroidery, pearls, and crystals, and is a champagne/blush color but I wouldn’t change it for the world! It flatters my skintone and the everything overall looked much nicer on me.

@alysee: I love your dress!!
When I got married to my first husband I was 22, and I wore something ver similar to this:
I was really into that princess look back then, and I still like it now, but it would look ridiculous on me at this point lol. I ended up choosing something completely different this time, and I loved it!
