    Hey ladies,

I really liked the dress I originally picked out, but my fiances family didn't like it one bit.... It made me feel pretty bad and I would like to keep looking for another dress.

    Thanks bunches.

I love the dress but I wouldnt say it is extremely flattering b/c it doesnt give (or show) you much of a shape. OR, was that the sample and probably a bit too big? I do think since you are so tiny you may look good in a fuller skirt? Do you have pics of other styles you tried on.

PS: If YOU loved your dress I would keep it!

I think you are in the right track.  Are you okay with getting a different dress though first and foremost?  I'm a size 00 as well though probably have a bit more hips than you (usually size 0 for that).  I found that sheath dresses and a-lines (some drop waists) worked best.  Be careful of the material you use.  Since we have such slim willowy frames you don't want to use anything to "heavy" this include" lots of crioline - big puffy skirts, heavy laces, runching, tafetta etc.  I found light flowy materials to look best as it didn't weigh me down.  I would also avoid covering your neck but if you like that look, I would go for an illusion type neckline or one with a very light/sparce lace.

Have you looked at different dress styles?  If not I would recommend that, no two bodies are the same and what may have worked well for me might not look well for you even if we seem to have the same body frame.

I think it may just be the belt: it is too thick and makes you look boxy. Plus, after it is taken in it will probably look 1000x more flattering

@Ettalie:  Thanks Ettalie, I tried on a ballgown and I disappeared in the dress! I cannot wear anything that shows my chest because I am flat chested. Not only that, my ribcage is twisted so my breasts look weird in a dress with an open top.

I really like that dress on you! Maybe try on a mermaid/trumpet style that flares out around the thighs. That would give you more of a curvy look I think. I've never had your "problem" (using the term very loosely) so I can't speak from experience, but I think you look great!

This is mine- looks great on small frames, not very forgiving on larger frames. It's lace but not heavy at all:

@babylo0n:  I would agree with a PP and then stick to a sheath bc I think that style works very well on slim figures only!

I am a size 2 in bridal, so not a whole lot bigger than you and I found that slim sheaths and fit and flares really flattered my shape. You may want to try those - I think you are definitely on the right track with the first dress you picked.

your a size 0...so naturally you dont have many curves (nothing wrong with that). No dress is gonna give you what u dont have. I think the dress looks good on you....i could never pull it off cuz i have curvy hips and thighs. If you like the dress that keep it. Dont let what your inlaws think dictate what u do.

Tyanna by Venus (part of their exclusive line- not on their website)

I think it's the most gorgeous dress (originally bought the Mikaella 1406, then had dress regret and bought this one), but it seems most people prefer the tulle. I'm not big on tulle myself as I find lace is such a classy and timeless look, but you have to feel amazing in whatever dress you pick! It sells for $1550, but I got 20% off for buying on the same day I tried it on!

@little_d:  Wow that is very pricy! Its as expensive as the dress I am wearing in this pic. Being a budget bride really sucks! I am cutting down on a lot of costs for the wedding just to get the dress of my dreams. Hopefully I'll find it soon.

@babylo0n:  I'm the same as you =) QUITE flat chested (didn't know if you were or not I don't like to presume) which is why I steered away from most strapless.  If you do go for strapless I would get straight cut ones, sweetheart shapes made it look quite evident that I lacked a lot in that department!  I would suggest going for v-neck style, caps.  This is one particular style (I didn't try this one on but similar) that works well for my frame:

These are the dresses I did try that worked fantastically well with my frame:

And of course most of Jenny Packhams dresses, for me, Aspen being the best (and the dress I ultimately chose)

I don't tend to share most of my trial pics but if you would like I can post/send you some via messenger if you'd like to see how it looked on my frame.

I think you're definitely on the right track, I just think that particular dress isn't defined enough in the waist. A fit and flare or mermaid might give you a curvier silhouette?

I think you could look for a strapless gown, and then have the lace illusion neckline added in. I love this Vera Wang Fall 2013 gown, just for inspiration:

@Ettalie:  Oh wow the third one is very beautiful! I love all the dresses, but I am going to be honest with you, it would look HORRIBLE one me. My breast bone and by chest area would just make me look really strange. How did you like the third one? Which one was your favorite out of all these?

The longer I think about it, the more I'm convinced an illusion necklace plus a peplum detail at the waist would work on you, if you want to create a more hourglass shape.

These are by Steven Khalil, for some ideas.

@Ettalie:  the first dress you posted is so beautiful and I think it would be perfect as it will help to give a little more shape around the hips.

I'm also tiny 5'3 & 42kilos and I could see this working on me as well.

Well I can't say that I totally relate, being plus size myself, but I do know what it's like to want to find something that suits my figure.

I agree with what the others are saying: sheaths, slim a-lines. drop waist and fit and flare dresses are your thing. I think mermaids are better for girls with a bit more curve. You could wear ballgowns if you are tall, but if you are short they could well overwhelm you.

As a person who absolutely has to have a supportive bra, deep neckline, high back and plenty of boning, my advice to you is celebrate the fact that you need none of those things. I would recommend something low backed that you can't wear a bra with - so maybe a bateau neck, one-shoulder, illusion neckline or jewel-necked-halter neckline (not a v-neck or sweetheart-neck-halter, as you need boobs for those styles).

Also look for detailing at the bust to hide the fact that you don't have much of a bust.

Here are some that I think would suit you:

    Maggie Sottero:

    Angelina Faccenda:

    La Sposa:

ETA: I see you're in the budget price range. You should still be able to find something. Actually, I think really slim brides fare the best when it comes to budget dresses, because they don't need things like boning or large amounts of fabric, which add $$ to the price of a dress.

i think this dress you chose makes you look straight up and dwn as in no curves...maybe try a different silhouette like a mermaid or trumpet..the top looks real conservative too...how old are you?

@babylo0n: I like the dress and can't see why your inlaws don't like it, but it's not their choice. Have you tried on many more styles? I'm thinking a low cut back or keyhole, which I believe the pictured dress has. If not then perhaps do so, so you know you're sure, and after all it won't be too much of a chore ;)

    @CatyLady:  Thanks CatyLady,

I did try on many types of dresses and the reason why I picked this one is because it covers my chest. My breastbone is twisted and looks really bad with any other dress I tried on.

I really like the first two dresses, but those type of dresses do not look good on me because of my twisted chestbone. I think I have to wear a dress thats more covered :\

Here are a few more I think would suit - all of them cover up your breastbone as is your wish.

    These are all under $1000.

Or you could try adding a sheer jacket to cover up the breatbone area, like in this one:

I think you should go with a dress that you love, not try to please anyone else. Having said that, being so petite, I would recommend some volume with a full skirt.

Other options would be one-shoulder dresses with a flowy structure. These are generally best on brides with straight figures and not overly large boobs. With the ones that are a-line, you coud add crinoline to give the illusion of a curvier figure.

Eden Bridals. My friend who is 5 ft nothing and a size 0-2 wore something similar to this for her wedding. You cannot have as much of a hint of a tummy for this sort of dress, so it is one for skinnier girls, but the volume at the side would give the illusion of a curve.

@babylo0n:  My favorite was the third which is now my wedding dress though the second also fit me quite superbly. If your concerned about the top I'd follow the general silhouette of those I posted but with a more covered top. I know the second dress covered by chest quite a bit so I can send you real life pics to give you an idea. If you want a covered top I'll see what I can find that might suite you. What price range are you looking at?
