That's not even 80's! Those are mid-90's. I was in high school when both of them got married (now I feel old). That's why I could never wear a 'trendy' wedding dress.
Yeah, very 90's! I always hated that headpiece that Celine is wearing.
I thought that Mariah Carey wanted to look like Princess Diana at her first wedding, hence the look. I've never been a big fan of the cascading flower bouquets.
Sorry with 80s confusion ))) I just ment to say 80s-90 s. (fixed already)I noticed that it was trendy to had BIG bouquttes lol it is sooooooooooooooo different now with all the littel round flower bouqets.
I had read the Celines head piece was so heavy it was making her head actually bleed!!!
Here's one from the 80's (from General Hospital, I think?) Hello, puffy sleeves!

cant see much of Mirahs dress but Celine... well she rarely had good fashion taste as that hideous white reverse tux that she wore to the oscars once proves
@jjmomma: oh! I remember rushing home to watch General Hospital that day.
If we're going for true 90's, you can't forget Rachel Green's wedding dress on Friends.

Best movie wedding dress ever! Steel Magnolias - late 1980s
Omg Patch and Kayla I wanted her wedding dress so bad I used to watch Days with my mom
There was also this hat&veil thing. My aunt got married in 1990 and had somehting like this one :
@happybride26: my stepmother had a dress almost exactly like that, minus the hat. she just had the big pouffy hair and veil. she and my dad got married in 1992. the worst part, thinking back, was how impractical it was. all that heavy satin (it was appliqued all over with lace) and long sleeves, and their wedding was june 13, in south jersey! it was like 93 degrees that day with ridiculous humidity. she had all her bridesmaids (including my older sister and me...she was almost 11 and i was 9) in these horrible "dusty rose" dresses that had a spaghetti strap satin lining with a long-sleeve lace overlay, and she dictated that we all had to wear our hair half down with the ridiculous teased pouf in the front. and of course, the A/C at the country club where their reception was wasn't working that night. i thought i was going to die, with the satin and hair down.
@cardus: OMG lol its terrible! Your poor stepnother.I've never thought how hot it might had been in those dresses. I am wondering if our dresses going to look a bit funny in about 30 years :)!
P.S All of it is still beautiful just different and funny for our times :)
I actually love Celine's dress (but I could do without the headpiece).
Rachel on Friends was the best!
Man...look at all the tiara things!!
@GroovyHippieChick: Is it wrong that i love the dress from steal magnolias??
I wish I had pictures on the computer from my moms wedding. It was in the early 80s, and while her dress was quite tasteful (while still having LONG lace sleeves and a lace turtle neck basically) her BM dresses were pretty scary, and very much 80s. Oh and they all had the big hair and BRIGHT eye shadow. My aunt was a teenager, the MOH, and was rocking the blue eyeshadow and hair poof.... *shutter*

No i feel the same way!! I remember watching the movie on VHS when I was young and being in awe of her gown and big hair lol
Don't forget Dream Bride Barbie circa 1991! I had one as a little girl and couldn't get over how huge the sleeves were!
@shel_lee_1: no, no it's not! I loved it along with her colors of "blush and bashful"!
lmao the hat and veil thing. wtf my mom wore a hat too?? In the 80's. I wonder what "trends" our kids will look back on and say wtf?? haha
@jjmomma: OMG Luke and Laura!!! Love them. I haven't watched GH in like 10 years, no idea if they're even still on it anymore.

Hi Ladies, This post is just for fun.
I've been looking on internet celebrity wedding dresses and styles and it is so funny to see how much the fashion changed in the last 20-30 years in the wedding industry from the gowns to the flower buquett. What do you think?
