Well there has been a lot of threads on this issue,  and so i thought i would also do one.

i ordered my dress from Dream Dress on 1st March 2011

they have been very attentive,  and have answered all my emails within a few hours, which is very encouraging.I have ordered this dress with the idea of sewing 1,000 swarovski crystals onto it,  but i am not sure it needs it.  i will make the back bustle,  and the dressmakers are sending me 3 spare flowers that match the front,  to add to the back for when i bustle it.   

 i emailed them today,  and they say they will finish the dress by tomorrow and also send me some pics of the finished dress and ONLY when i say yes by email,  they will then post it to me.....cant say fairer than that.  just keeping everything crossed that its what i want.    

this is the dress i ordered,  a Demetrios 3127  and original price is £1,000  ($1,500)

and dream dress will make this for me for £165      approx  $220  .....with free p/p

the original dress is ivory , and has button up back, but i have requested champaigne gold and a lace up corsett back.  it is a corsett top and skirt.

which dress have you gone for?

i know mine is a replica,  but i still love Demetrios style gowns.  this is from the ILLUSIONS spring 2009 collection.  i know i dont get married til 2012,  but i just love the dress.

the reason i toned down in size and puffyiness, is because i have been married before and i didnt feel right going all out ,  especially a white dress.  i love white dresses,  and yours is stunning,  but it wasnt right for me. 

yes , you dont see many Demetrios dresses on here,  shame really because they are stunning. 

i chose the halter neck because i think having a 36E bra size,  strapless wouldnt support me enough,  and i have always liked halterneck.

strapless dresses look great,  but again......not right for me. 

i know mine isnt a vintage dress,  but vintage is the look i was looking for,  so i have made a vintage brooch bouquet,  will wear vintage hair brooch thingy....and my bridesmaids will wear dresses in an Audrey Hepburn style.

here are my Audrey Inspired bridesmaids dresses......obviously this is a wedding dress,  mine will not be in white...i am quite tempted to get myself one for my reception dress...Hmmmmmm

i am not sure if the girls will need to wear an underskirt or if that will make them too puffy, ill see what they need when i get them. i like the way they remind me of a ballet dress,  which is very close to my heart . 

does anyone have any advice on what shoes would look good with this dress?  its a beach wedding.  but there is a carpet over wood walkway.  

maybe little kitten heal ballet pumps i thought?  any other ideas?

yeah out of the 3 dresses, i really do like the one with the lace,  but that would be for me for my reception...if i decide to have one for my reception, i think its a little bit too fancy for the bridesmaids. i think i will stay with the plainer tulle dresses for them.

in fact i think if i hadnt chosen the wedding dress i had,  then i would have liked that lace one, with the plainer ones for the bridesmaids.

who knows?  if the dress i ordered isnt wha i expect,  then that might be a 2nd option for me.

@dufftra,  can we see some pics of your dress please? 

well i am still waiting pictures of my dress,  at a time when i should have been receiving it in the post.

i emailed them AGAIN today ....i feel such a nuisance.....and they said very sorry but it will take another 3-5 days to complete....DONT WORRY

if i hear dont worry one more time i will scream! 

i am not unduley worried,  all i have asked for is a picture,  whether the dress is half finished or not,  so that i can see for myslef if they have made it to my specifications. 

all i get is.....dont worry,  dress will be 3-5 days and we will take pictures and send to you? 

seriously  WTF ? 

then sometimes....and i am sure they do it on purpose .....they email me and the email is nonsensicle,  i cant for the life of me understand what they are saying.  mostly i do,  so its not the language barrier thing,  i am sure they email me to shut me up. 

i ordered my dress March 1st.......now its 28th.    i was told 25-30 days to RECEIVE it, thats not hapening is it?

so i emailed them again today and they said they have now finished my dress!   and as it was night time there right now......its 7pm here and they are 8 hours in front.....3am?  

anyway they said they will send me a photograph tomorrow morning........by the time i get to my PC  it will be 7am,   (3pm in China)   so fingers crossed by tomorrow i will SEE my dress and i am praying is been made to my specifications......or i will go ape-shit.  then once i have given the OK  after seeing it,  then they will post it to me....and that could take 7-9 days to get here.     i can wait,  i just wanted to see my dress on a picture,  thats all. 

well i am not holding my breath!   i will be posting it on here,  good or bad,  to let others know how things are.

they promised me a picture but i will believe it when i see it,  but this last email WAS  to be honest the nly one they have said its finished,  all the other emails said they neeed more time  etc. 

i wonder if they do stall on time just so that we cant get a PAYPAL refund?   i ordered mine 1st March,  and i know i osund impatient but all i asked for was a picture,  finished or not.  but i was told it would be  25-30  days and thats delievered,  or something like that,  its passed 25 days,  and it wont get her by the 30th day cos its only got 3 days to do that,  china to UK?  nah.

i hope you get your dress sorted  Ryna,   what was the problem with the measurements?

but you can still file with PAYPAL  and if you then get your dress,  you could cancel the PAYPAL complaint. 

i mean if they send you a tracking number........and it doesnt arrive?  i would be wondering if it was ever coming,  and so i think i will file with PAYPAL if it goes on for long,  and if my dress comes,,  i will cancel it. its easily done,  and easy to cancel,  but go one day over and you are buggered!  LOL

i know that when i see a picture of my dress,  and if its what i ordered,  then i will be so happy that i wont feel like complaining,  but i will. because a picture is a picture,  and i paid for a dress,  and wont be satisfied completely untill i have it here. 

With Paypal you have 45 days from the date payment was made - to the exact second.  Make sure you're aware of when that 45th day hits and file a claim prior to that time.  Otherwise, Paypal won't help you. 

You can only file with one.  It used to be that Paypal was better but I think Ebay changed it so that now you have to file with them.  DO NOT attempt to file with both of them though - they will cancel each other out.  Ebay will protect you though - they almost always side with the buyer, especially in a case like this where it hasn't shipped yet.

i will file with PAYPAL becuase i didnt go through EBAY.  they do sell on ebay but i ordered from their website and paid by PAYPAL.   

well i paid 1st march  so i have 2 more weeks yet before i take it furhter. 

UPDATE:

i emailed them this morning at 9.30am  GB time........Chinese time 4.30pm,  and asked them to please send the photo of my 'finished dress,  as was promised yesterday.

they replied by saying,  'very sorry but have checked and your dress wont be finished until tomorrow,  and we will send photogrpahs then......

Furious isnt the word!  i emailed them striaght back to ask WHY i had been told it was finshed,  and also WHY it wasnt finished when they have gone over there promised timeline.

i asked for a photo  of my dress,  finished or not.  

i am pissed off that someone lied to me.......but not surprised really. 

why even bother answering my emails telling me its finished etc etc,  when it is not?

i neglected to tell them it was 2012,  but never mind.  i'm telling ya,  if it was this may i would be panicking right about now!   LOL

lets keep each other updated on this,  its quite interesting.  and yes i do feel like i am not alone.......but i am still bloody furious!   :)

i asked for a picture even if the dress isnt quite finished,  they said yes......i just wanted to see if they were spot on with my specifications, and you're right,  WE feel like the villians because we email them asking them for our dress,  and yet they are the ones making promises of certain dates and not keeping them!!!!!!!!!

well thats 3 of us,  all from different companies,  so i hope we all get to hear something....and more importantly see and recieve somethign within the next week. 

i also hope that we will all be back here soon, saying all is forgiven because my dress was worth the wait. 

i would hate to think we have stressed ourselves out over this,  only to get a pile of crap.  and yes i do feel stressed.  not at the waiting,  but the unneccasary waiting.  if they said sorry but needs 4 months to make it....we would consider out options,  and maybe go elsewhere.  or wait.   but to be told 25-30 days  and its still not done ,  i am bloody angry,  and the to be told yesterday it IS done,  then today that its not......seriously i am furious.  

lets hope for all of us the wait was worth it... 

funny how she replied so quickly! and even funnier is what a coincidence that she posted it on the VERY day that you raised a complaint !   LOL

anyway IF it arrives you can cancel the complaint, at least you are covered.

ask her fot the tracking number and if she cant give you one.....she didnt send it.
