Check out the bridal salons in Koreatown. I went to 3 different ones, and they all had dresses under $1,000, and some available to rent for even less. And these are designer dresses (Pronovias, Enzoani, Paloma Blanca, etc, etc) Can’t be beat. These are the 3 shops I went to.

Lili’s bridal in Tarzana….AMAZING! I got my dress there in the sale room for $99…no joke! And I tried on 15 dresses I loved….all under $1000!

I second Lili’s Bridal and also want to add Pebbles Bridal in Woodland Hills.  Both have a huge off the rack sale section.  Pebbles has a HUGE inventory of dresses at unbelievable prices because they are discontinued.

I decided to rent my dress in Orange County.

For $200, you get cleaned, altered dress, veil, and thing that makes your dress puffy.

Hollywood Bridal in Westminster.

I also went to Bridal Elegance in Torrance. She had some terrible reviews online and I talked to her about it and it was really fascinating how things can get out of hand w/shipping/angry brides, etc. The store has a dedicated parking lot and while it’s a smaller store, there was a TON of variety – more so than any other place I went to. The women were lovely and stayed with us even after hours. My favorite was how sweet they were to a young girl who was there looking for a quincineara dress.

My family had the most fun at this shop and I wish I would have had the “it” feeling just to give them the sale. One of my favorite things is that all the dresses are in the front so you can look at all of them without feeling like they are “off limits”. Awesome head pieces and lots of variety including vintage styled hats.

I went to a lot of LA and OC stores and my favorite was Mary Me Bridal in Orange. There were A LOT of below 1k dresses in there.

That was my budget as well. You can try Castle for Brides in Huntington Beach, Mary Me Bridal, Mariposa, The Wedding Outlet (they carry mostly Eden gowns) in Montebello. Jaclyn’s in Costa Mesa has some for purchase and some for rent.

I would also try “The Dresser” in Fullerton. They are great, not just with your budget but with making the vision of your dress come to life.
