    Hello!

I am at my wit's end, and hope that someone can give me some advice ASAP!

Okay... The shop where I got my dress ordered the wrong size.  In fact, it was a size smaller than it should have been.  The seamstress said she thought they would be able to let it out enough so that it would fit.
I have been there SEVEN times for alterations.  My next one is tomorrow (wed.) and my wedding is SUNDAY!!!  Last week when I was there, she said she was sorry that she thought it would work, and that they were going to overnight fabric to re-do the entire back of the dress.

I am assuming that it will still NOT fit correctly.  Keep in mind, I'm putting this all in a nutshell.  Since there has been so many alterations, I think the seaming will be messed up regardless of adding fabric or not.  WHAT DO I DO??

I'm plus sized, so I can't just go out and find a dress as easily as some other women.  Even if the dress works (and at this point, I completely hate it because I assoicate it with nothing but stress) should I ask for my money back completely??  I don't know within what limits I can work.  Know what I mean?

My wedding is in five days. I can't believe this is happening.  Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You are right. Your dress will probably not be the same as you had originally wanted to be. They are pros though and will make it the best they can

THEY MESSED UP. They need to compensate you...HEAVILY. We're talking a chunk of money for excess tmie and effort. THey should have ordered you the correct size immediately. You need to get on the phone with a manager and tell them this is the biggest bunch of bull ever. I mean, nicely, duh. Be polite and firm. This is absolustley ridiculous and I'd be FUMING if i were you. I'm sure you are.

What kind of dress do you have? There are off the rack plus size places, but with 5 days to go you might be SOL. You could buy one online, overnight it, and demand the store alter that one and refund your money.

I am so sorry to hear that has happened to you - it must be SO FRUSTRATING. I'd just go buy another one off the rack that needs minor alterations and have them do a rush alteration job, just so that you have two dresses going.

That is a nightmare!  I am so sorry that this is happening to you.  I think you should call them asap and say that you are NOT HAPPY with the gown at all....  They are doing so many alterations (their fault for ordering it too small) that the original dress is no longer the same.

I would see if they are willing to either give you at least some of your money back.  See if they have another gown in store in your size (minimal alterations) that you can use for your wedding.

Otherwise try to call around to other stores and let them know your situation... who knows you might be able to find something...

I know it wont be your dream dress, but at least you will have something...

I am so sorry to hear that this is happening to you.  Especially since your getting married in 5 days! The other girls are right, you do have only two options:Call the salon that you bought the gown and request they order you the right size for the style of dress you have and have them alter it right away (although this might be tricky especially if you had to custom orde ryour gown). 2nd, just request to be compensated and get something off the rack and have them alter it for you.

I hope everything will work out...

I would make sure that you find a dress first before you say you want your money back. Yeah, I'd ask for my money back and rush a dress that will fit you perfect.

    I say screw the dress.

I am sure you have already invested a lot of money in it. Try to get it back, but first:

Call Alfred Angelo. I used to work there and they have dresses that you can buy off the rack in a variety of sizes, and also some dresses that are short order gowns, you can get in a pinch. I would probably go that direction.

You can't worry about this other dress. As much as you love it, the place screwed up BIG time.

So sorry you are going through this. Just think, one day you will be able to laugh about this with your fiance. :-)

I would so totally go bridezilla on their asses! I would ask for my money back seriously. They screwed up royally. This is the biggest day of your life and you absolutely should not be stressing this much about your dress. Do you a David's Bridal where you live cuz they have a lot of beautiful dresses for plus size women. I'm sure you hate the dress....I don't blame you...I would to.

I'm so sorry that you have to go thru that bs...it must totally suck!
