you might wanna try looking for dress makers or seamstresses on yelp.com
I can not believe they didnt have anything in a tea length for under 3500, I am from a small town and my local shop has more to offer it sounds like. Sorry for the rotten experience, hope you find what you are looking for.
Do you have a davids bridal or an alfred angelo close to you? both have dresses in your size (they have them in mine and i am a 16)
I'm sorry that happened to you. Did you ever try http://www.dollycouture.com/ They have gorgeous dresses that are tea length with a vintage look, if thats something you like! And their dresses are prety reasonable!
I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm scared to ask where this happened at. Eva's, Heim's, Amelishan...
Try Etsy! If you don't see anything for sale that's already designed, you can always post an alchemy request on etsy as well and lots of seamstresses will propose a price to compete to make the dress you want within your budget. Just be sure and check feedback/past work if going the alchemy route.
I would check out who Miss Pretzel used and perhaps have one custom made. Don't worry all bridal stores aren't bratty like that but I went to quite a few that were. I don't know why some bridal consultants feel the need to rain on your parade.
Chin up though- you will find your dress, I promise! :o)
Take a look at nordstom.com and their wedding section. They have lots of tea length dresses. You could order a couple online and return the ones you don't like in store! :-)

I dont know if this is what you are looking for but its under your budget. Another bee posted it and I thought of you
Definitely check our Stephanie James Couture! She has some absolutely gorgeous tea length dresses, and they run from $1,200-$4000.

hmm along with mcmonicka...im also afraid as to where this happened. Have you checked out Savvy in Brookfield?
How's the dress shopping coming along? If you're interested in traveling to the Madison area, Brandi's Bridal Galleria in New Glarus has a good selection of tea-length dresses, and dresses that can easily be altered to be tea-length. My friend and I were dress shopping for her this past summer and she's about your size - the dresses the consultant chose looked amazing on her! Good luck!
Oh I know what you're going through! Here in my area (and I think in Australia in general!) it's next to impossible to find tea length dresses. I'm having mine made for me by a local dressmaker that specialises in wedding dresses. That way I've been able to have the exact dress I want made to fit ME and it'll be just the way I want it. I've heard that you should be able to order in standard dresses and have the manufacturer make them shorter but ironically it may cost more to have less dress! Also I'm not buying that body type stuff - ANYONE looks great in a sassy tea length if they look happy and confident, which of course you will!!! Goodluck!
Check out http://delaniecouture.com/ I hear that she is affordable and will custom make your perfect dress!
I've heard that miss ruby has dresses that aren't your typical wedding dresses. Call ahead though and find out for sure! www.missrubyboutique.com
If you check the list of stores that sell Stephanie James Couture on her website, I believe one of the shops is in Wisconsin,

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I have been dreaming of a tea length wedding dress for months now. It just plain suits my personality! Despite this, all of the designers I like don't have samples within 2 hours of my house. Today I thought I would go to a well advertised boutique in the Milwaukee area. I called ahead and made it very clear what I was looking for. When I arrived, I was shown mother of the bride dresses that looked like moo moos, that could be "altered" to look like a short gown. I was then told that I don't have a body type that a tea length dress flatters. I inquired if the store had any that I would try and was told no. The samples I was brought were at the very top or over my budget of 3500K. I was DISGUSTED with the experience. So......I NEED HELP! Does anyone know of a tailor or dress maker near Milwaukee that can make a dress? Orrrrrr, of a boutique close to Milwaukee where I won't feel like a schlub because I am a size 12/14? Thanks!
