Thank you for all your support, hive! I really appreciate your kind words because my mom HATES the dress. This is something I was prepared for because she is very very traditional and wanted a traditional ballgown with beading and lace. We went dress shopping a few times together when I was home for the holidays and it was an extremely frustrating and demoralizing process because of our extreme differences in style.
I tried on the dresses she picked to try and please her and in hopes that maybe I would like them, but they just aren't ME. So when I found this dress, I knew she wouldn't like it but hoped maybe she would still say I was pretty in it. Unfortunately, it just led to an angry phone call with her hanging up on me when I said I wouldn't exchange it. Soooo...I'm just a little bummed because having my mom's approval was something I would have liked - even if I wasn't expecting it. BUT at least I still have your approval, hive! :)
That dress looks absolutely amazing on you! I'm sorry to hear your mom didn't approve. :( I bet she'll come around once she sees how happy you are in it! That's what matters most!
@lisa: ((HUGS)) i love your dress and think that it is stunning. can you perhaps compromise with your mom by wearing a very traditional veil, shoes and accessories?
You wear it so much better than the model!! It fits you perfectly. I like the necklace you have on, too. Is that what you're planning on wearing? I think it's a good fit!
I hope your mom will come around. Hopefully with a veil, etc, she'll see that a wedding dress is a wedding dress, and she won't mind that it's more "modern" than she was hoping!
