I have been searching for wedding dresses and realized its so much cheaper online. Anyone have a reliable site for me to shop from?

    Thanks,

     Ms. Smiley

I got both my dresses on ebay for under 200 bucks. One was for the ceremony and the second was for reception. There are so many sites where you can get a dress, just do some research to find what you want.

Wow.. I love that reception dress!

I got my Nicole miller off of ebay for 200 dollars (in the store I tried it on at it was 1200).  What kind of brands are you looking for?

Miss Perfume posted today about purchasing her dress online. She stated that http://www.yourdreamdress.com/ was a great site with wonderful customer service; you can even return the dress within 24 hours if you don't like it.

    Best wishes.

I have the perfect answer for this question,

I think shopping online opens up a brides options so much more.  Especially for those women who live far away from a decent sized bridal shop.

My cousin took the plunge last year and got her dress from

    http://www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com

When my Fiance popped the question on Christmas Eve, I knew exactly where I was going to get mine.

I had a $1,500 budget for my dress and I ended up spending $400 and I can not wait to get my dress.

Here is the link to my dress, I ordered it in Ivory though

    http://www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com/234-chandler.htm

The lady who is their customer service is one of the nicest people I have ever had an online relationship with.  She really took lots of emails and phone calls from me and just assured me, even though my cousin's dress sold me, I guess I was still a little nervous.

The one thing that she did explain to me was that when you order a dress online, you need to be careful of websites that post designer wedding dress pictures but really make replica's of them.  Until you see the dresses that this type of online store makes, it really becomes a huge chance that you will get a gown that doesn't even look like the one you ordered.

I hope this helps.  Just order your dress from a site that shows you the actual dress that you will get, and also check their return policy.  That is crucial.

    Best Wishes

I looked at dresses on ebay, but didn't really see anything that I could fall in love with and was a little wierded out about wearing a dress that had been worn by someone else and had possibly been altered before.  Plus, I'm quite tall, so I was very worried that I would get a dress that would end up being too short.

    Then I hit the jackpot.

I read about the website http:/www.1koo.com in a book called Bridal Bargains.  When I first checked it out, I was definitely skeptical.  It's a site where you can buy wedding dresses direct from China (that's where most of them are made anyway) at really cheap prices.  The site can be a little confusing to navigate, but once I figured it out, I was able to look through hundreds of dresses and I never saw one that was more than $300.

I thought it was too good to be true, but decided to take a chance and order a dress from them (I also google searched reviews of the site first and found nothing but good remarks)

    Here's what happened:

    1. I was able to have the dress I fell in love with custom made for my size- so I didn't have to worry about it being too short
    2. The dress I loved didn't have a train and I really wanted one- I emailed them to see if this could be done and they said yes- FOR ONLY $20 EXTRA!
    3. My dress arrived at my door in less than a month after I ordered
    4. It was perfect- great quality and fully lined in satin
    5. I paid less than $300 for my dress, custom fit, added train, and shipping all combined.

A great deal for a bargain bride!!

Hi Ms. Smiley! You've got some good recommendations on here already, but I wanted to bump you up and add NetBride.com to the list for consideration. They get great reviews, and have gotten a lot of praise in various budget wedding planning books.

Of course, the boards here are wonderful resources (and now that they're more organized, they're even better), and Once Wed is a great place to go, too.

If you're ANYWHERE near Atlanta, you might also want to check out the Bridals by Lori outlet store. You can view the dresses online from the link hidden down at the bottom right of their main page in tiny script. They have hundreds of gorgeous gowns at deep discounts that could make it worth the trip if you or anyone in your family lives near here. :)

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

To add to what Miss Springroll said, Mrs. Coconut got her beautiful Vera Wang dress from that same company and she had nothing but great things to say about her experience with them.  She actually found them on ebay selling dresses and even got to negotiate with them about the price.

Quick question - for those of you who have already purchased dresses online, what do you plan to do about pressing the dress?
