Wait, they want to buy a 10 as a sample, like to have other brides be able to try it on if you don’t want it? Then alter it to a 6 if you do want to buy it? Would you get some kind of discount for buying a sample dress? because they aren’t really ordering a dress for you if it’s not in your size… I wouldn’t be comfortable with this plan. Are you sure you can’t try it on anywhere else?

I ordered my dress in a 12 because they told me the sample 10 was stretched and wouldn’t actually fit me if I ordered a new 10. The 12 was too big, and was never altered to be as tight as I would have wanted it. In hindsight, I would have preferred to lose a little weight to fit into the 10 if I needed…I would think it would be even more difficult to reduce a 10 to a 6…

MrsVoyles:  That means they don’t have that dress for your to try on and in order for them to get it they need to order it. Is there any other places where you can try it on? You may not be a 6. I just ordered my wedding dress and according to the designers measurements, they ordered me an 8. I like you can fit in a 2-4 size dress pant and I wear small or xsmall shirts.
