Freaking out over here in Belgium. Did I buy the right dress? It is fancy enough?
It’s the Pronovias Diciembre 2013 dress. I bought it one year before my wedding. I got excited and love going dress shopping and it was the third time I was trying on dress. I made my decision even before the dress was all the way zipped!!
But now I’m having my doubts about it. The pictures that were taken at the time don’t really look that great to me and I can’t help but feeling I bought the wrong one, I should have tried more one, etc. . . Is it now too simple? Should i make the Sweetheart deeper and with a scalloped lace edge? Thoughts on the belt?? Not crazy about the belt now!
What do you lovelies think?? Am I stressing out over nothing or should I try to find the dress here in Belgium to go try on again (bought it in Spain)??
Has anyone bought this dress lately and if so please show a picture!!!!
*dress doesn’t look the same on me as on the model??

There are two truths to consider when going through dress regret:
1. Any and all pictures you take of yourself in the salon NEVER do the dress or yourself justice. In fact, the best way to ensure you get dress regret is to look at your camera phone pictures over and over again.
2. Never in the history of ever has a dress actually looked like what it’s supposed to look like on a model***
**** if you want the dress to look like as it does on the model simply forget about eating for the next 4 months and stand against a WHITE WALL in a position that makes you look like you’re having major cramping..

WHAT?? What are you freaking out about? the dress is AMAZING and stunning, all the handmade work it have, made the dress looks luxurious and yes girl! expensive!, the only thing I can point out is that your dress looks kind of loose in the hips part and in the model the dress seems to be more fitting in the hips. if you can get that fixed the dress will look more than the one in the picture, but your dress still looks amazing.

Dresses will never look like they do on you like they do on a model.
You look very slim and elegant. like a picture perfect bride. It fits your body wonderfully and has many veil posibilities.
You are getting dragged into the wedding hype of “you need this to be beautiful” “only this makes a good wedding” “real brides do this!”
Just stop it, relax and trust that, that dress is amazing, you look amazing and youll get non stop complements on your big day! congrats!

@MissBelgium: It looks fantastic on you, and salon pictures always look junky because of the lighting. The dress fits you perfectly, and I actually prefer the way you look in it to the model to be honest.

You are definately stressing over nothing. That dress looks amazing on you! I think it looks better on you than the model.
I wouldn’t worry, I think you made a great choice.

I think you look great. Don’t look at the pics anymore.

@skippydarling: lol major cramping it is so true, kinda makes me want to bring back the ‘what is that model doing?’ thread.
OP I think your dress looks great and I don’t know what you are worrying about. The dresses always look different on real brides, and they always look better on them too because the brides are actually happy and usually have more curves to fill out the dress the way it’s meant to be worn.

Thanks everyone!! I think even just hearing nice comments has made me a bit calmer! Its just hard now waiting about 8 months to even try it on again!!

It looks beautiful on you! I think the issue with it looking different on the model is because of the way she is standing in the first pic, it makes the dress look more fit and flare. But in the second model pic it definitely looks A line just as it does on you.

I think it’s beautiful!! If you are worried it’s too simple, jazz up the acessories! Maybe even get a more intricate belt? Etsy.com has amazing belts. But honestly, I think this dress looks amazing on you and is so beautiful!

Your dress is beautiful!
Don’t worry about not looking like the model looks in this dress. Rest assured that not even the model actually looks like that in that dress. It’s clear that someone either altered the photo to make the dress look much more fit-and-flare, or someone on set ordered the dress to be clipped in some manner in the back to create that silhouette specifically for that portion of the photoshoot.

The dress looks beautiful I think it looks better on you than the model and that’s the God’s honest truth

Are you kidding? You look beautiful in that dress! As for not looking like the model… Those girls are more likely than not 15 years old, 5 meters tall and weigh 30 kilos together with their beds and bedlinens 🙂 Not to mention the pictures have been heavily photoshopped to look like she can hardly move in her dress while you look breezy, effortless and elegant. You made the right choice, just enjoy it! 🙂
