I happened to come across this when looking at bridal salons in the area! I haven’t personally dealt with them but am looking to buy my dress from them since they have great reviews. If you are willing to go to Sunnyvale then this may work:

astridml :  I know nothing about dress rentals around here, but I’m also from San Jose! Hi! (And if you decide to buy and not rent a dress I know lots about local shops! smile)

astridml :  I had very good service at Bo Lee in Sunnyvale and Elegant Lace in San Jose. Both have a pretty good selection of dresses under $2500 or so, and the consultants I worked with were very friendly and helpful!

I didn’t actually end up getting a dress from either one of those places – I also looked a lot in SF. I went to Sarah Seven (loved the dresses and service and almost got a dress from there) and Nordstrom Bridal Suite (great selection of dresses). My dress is from Marina Morrison, which has many beautiful (and expensive… sigh) dresses, although I didn’t find it to be quite as warm and friendly of an atmosphere as many of the other places I went. That said, my dress is beautiful and the seamstress is doing an excellent job with alterations. Glamour Closet is another excellent option in SF – it’s like a giant sample sale, so if the dress they have works for you, you get it at a great discount and walk out with it day of!

I’ve been married now for almost two years and now in hindsight, I WISH I had the option to rent a wedding gown!!  The boutique where I bought my dress now does some rentals, but the choices are limited (and ugly.)  🙂   I think there might be a niche market for this – I think it would be amazing if there was a way to rent a designer gown for less than $300!  If there were real options for this I think tons of ladies who don’t necessarily want to spend thousands on a “wear one time” dress would consider this!

Good luck in your search!!!  And I did look into used gowns online, however – its so important to be able to try on a dress in person to make sure the fit is good!
