Have you checked out any of the local boards?
I'm not currently in MI, but I know I did some googling for sales when I was there this summer and found some stuff. What major cities are within driving for you?
I've tried googling and looking through the boards but am having trouble finding anything. I've found plenty of bridal shows but none that are the kind of events where they have a ton of sample gowns for sale. I know there was one in Chicago not long ago but I didn't even find anything about that when I was googling for it. I drive between central Michigan to northwest Indiana to notheastern Indiana. The only thing I'm really finding is the Macy's sample sales in Chicago and the Detroit area. Both are rather quite out of my way. Chicago's closest but it will be the most expensive due to their high taxes.
A lot of designers do their own sample sales, I think. If theres a specific designer you were interested in, try their website and look for Trunk Sale or Sample Sale.
Otherwise I just found this site http://www.chicagolandwedding.com/Calendar/BS-Apr10.htm with info about bridal shows and the like... maybe there's something there?
Thanks for the site. It has a lot of Bridal Expos listed but the only dress sale posted on the site for within the next year was two weekends ago :( Thanks though.
May 22nd, there is Brides against Breast Cancer in Indianapolis, where designers and women contribute their dresses and 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer.
Go to the website, www.BridesAgainstBreastCancer.org and check out other locations. I just found out about it last night and am definitely going.

this might be too far for you, but i remember when i lived in columbus, filene's basement always had a twice a year sale with all sorts of designer gowns. i considered making the trip up there to visit family during one of those weekends, but the 2010 dates just didn't work for me.

...Running of the Brides events are only scheduled on Fridays. ...Who's brillant idea was that?! Does anyone know if they ever host them on a Saturday or Sunday during the fall or is summer the only time they host the events?
