I voted yes.  I also had someone at a bridal salon suggest wearing the sash for just the reception which I thought could be kind of fun.  As it is, I’ll be having a brocade band across my waist (not a sash), so I can’t really argue that they cut you off.

I didn’t vote, but only because it depends on the dress, and the bride, to me. Sometimes they look really cute. Sometimes they look like an afterthought. Could you post pics of the dress? Light gold would probably look gorgeous, I would think.

The beauty of it is you can just get it and decide later right?

I had a pink sash made for my dress. When I was trying my dress on I really liked it, but on the actual wedding day I decided I no longer like it and left it out.

I am doing a sash, I think that it looks great on any body type. And like ipodgirl said you can always remove it

I didn’t vote either because I agree it depends on your body type.  I really like a touch of ivory or light contrasting color.

I like the sash on my dress, but I also have a body (with hips) that looks better with something belted around my waist.  My sash isn’t too contrasting in color, with an ivory dress and champagne sash.

Overall, I think the sash is overused and generally distracts from the look. However, on some dresses, on some brides, I think it looks great!!

i will be using a Truffle sash on my ivory gown.  I really think the sash looks great on plain gowns……….I am forming a bow to the side and i got a pin to put in the center of the bow.  I think it all depends on the style of the dress though.

I agree with JeskaJune20- it really does depend on your body type and the type of dress you are getting.

If you really want to wear a sash, I’d suggest doing it at the reception rather than wearing one the whole day. That way, you’ll have photos of you in both styles and it’s a fun, splash of color as you dance the night away!

I love the look of sashes on gowns now. It is so fresh and can make your whole look seem finished.

    I’m getting mine from http://www.TwistedCrystals.com

LOVE sashes! I am wearing a white one for the ceremony and a light green one for the reception. That is, if I can ever find some that are fairly inexpensive….!

Did anyone figure out how to tie the bridal sash?
