So I just started the alteration process, but the day before I did, I tried on my dress for the first time with the petticoat and all my accessories. I needed my mom to zip the dress for me. When she tried, she couldn’t zip it up. She started freaking out and my little sister had to come into the room to hold the sides of the dress together. My mom was so convinced I had gained weight.
The next day I went to my fitting and turns out, my mom forgot to hook something up inside the dress before she zipped it. As soon as she did, the zipper went right up. The steamstress said the dress fit me perfectly up top however, my mom has been on my case ever since that first incident about my weight. Sure, I am not as thin as my sisters, but I am a healthy weight, I try my best to stay in shape and eat healthy. Now every time I reach for a piece of chocolate my mom lectures me about fitting into my dress! It just hurts because she knows how insecure I have always been about my figure.
Anyone else experience this or anything like this?
