    Hey Bees,

I have been engaged for over a year, getting married in 6 months, but still haven't found "THE ONE" as in my wedding gown. I have yet to feel like a dress is "the one" but I do have two favorites. I may just to be too analytical to have an emotional connection but maybe I thought I could get some fellow brides' opinions.

We're getting married in Florida, an outdoor ceremony and then moving to an elegant ballroom for the reception. We want our theme to convey glamour, a Monaco-feeling like Prince Grace Kelly, tantalizing music and food...our colors are deep purples with accents of fuschia.

So, with that said, here are my two favorite dresses, and if you have any thoughts, I'd really love to hear what you have say!

Ok, so I tried to put them in the HTML code but that didn't work, so now Ill just have to upload them. Sorry!

I like the first one best, the detail is so pretty! I hope you don't feel like you're settling, though!

I think dress #1 is stunning....very Princess Grace - classic & elegant! It looks beautiful on you!!!! The second dress is really pretty but you look very petite so I think it looks a little too eh...overwhelming...but ....you have to go with what feels right for you....let us know what you choose!

I like them both, but I think I like the first one a bit more.  Get what you think you will be happiest with and the most comfortable in.  One bit of advice, keep in mind that it often takes several months for dresses to come in after they are ordered.  Ask about the date when you order and be sure to plan time for alterations.  One more thing: I love the "No photography" sign in the first picture; how funny!

I agree with all the other comments.  I think the first dress is breathtaking!

But you have to pick the one that makes you happiest!

Not many girls can pull off the first dress.. and it looks stunning on you. It definitely has that "woah" factor that will have every eye on you (not that they wouldnt be i nthe first place!!).

You are the only one who can pick the dress that makes you feel like the perfect bride... so try to envision yourself walking down the aisle and dancing with your hubby in both dress... which one gives you goosebumps?

I think the first one has the Monaco/princess Grace vibe you mentioned, but the neckline on the second one is so flattering on you!

Have you tried on silhouettes other than the mermaid/trumpet? Sometimes the dress that makes your heart skip a beat is nowhere near what you thought it'd be. If you haven't strayed away from what you analytically think you want, that might be why you haven't found it yet.

Good luck searching! I hope that helps!

I like the first one, but try a slim A line with a dropped waist. It has the illusion of a mermaid a little bitu, but a little bit of the pouf in the second one! It very well may be the best of both worlds!

    Good Luck deciding.

You look absolutely stunning in the first one!  It's an everlasting kind of dress.  I personally don't like pick-ups so I have an inherent bias towards the first one.  That first dress is gorgeous and you look elegant in it!!!

I'm going to go against the grain and say I like #2 the best. I do tend to like the pick up look, so that may be why. They both look beautiful on you, but I think, if you don't think either of them is the "one" that you should go and try on some different styles. Ultimately you will find your perfect dress! I love dress #1, but agree that with your fabulous shape an A line or sheath dress would be quite lovely.  If you aren't completely happy with your choices, keep trying.  I tried on over 100 gowns, and finally found the right one (it was the first dress I didn't want to ever take off).

Your two faves are beautiful, but I love the first one on you! It's gorgeous! Very Grace Kelly-esque! And I know just how you feel about being too analytical and how it can cloud our judgement...But when it comes down to it, your wedding dress should feel like THE dress for you. If it doesn't, then keep looking until you find it because it is out there. Please keep us updated!

They're both super-flattering on you, but I especially like #1 too. The detailing is sooooo pretty. And the pick-ups on #2 may be a bit much for an outdoor ceremony- i dunno.

Wow - I'm blown away by your comments - thanks so much! I really appreciate the feedback - it certainly helps...and now I'm leaning toward option 1. We'll see...like some of you said, you have to know it's the One. I've tried on a zillion dresses in all different styles and looks. But with my budget (under $1000), I have slim pickings (so it seems). But hopefully i'll go with one of these or keep looking. Thanks everyone!!

I agree the first one is gorgeous... but I have a thought for you.  You have the cutest figure, and the pattern on the first dress might have the effect of broadening you at the hips.  It's an optical illusion caused by the pattern that isn't there in the second dress.  If the dress didn't have that widening pattern at the hips, I'd definitively say it's the one for you.

If you are really not sure which of the two to pick, it might be an indiciation that you should keep looking.  Try the dropped waist A line, and see if you can't get the elusive feeling you've been searching for.  I agonized between 2 dresses for the longest time, but finally realized that neither was quite the right dress for me.

PS- I love the no photo sign in all your photos ;)

The first one! I think they are both very beautiful, but there is just something stunning about the first one. YOU come through in that first one. What I learned is that it isn't really about the dress. Its how YOU look in the dress, and in that first one, you definitely have the wow factor.

I like that it is a little different than the  "typical" dress yet still similar enough to be classically beautiful.

@ MissAlissa: Have you tried Casablanca or Watters yet? Both of those lines tend to be close to your budget for your gown (Casablanca was often well under, in my experience) and have tons of gorgeous options. Jasmine also had some very budget friendly gowns that you might want to look into! :)

First these dresses are both very pretty! It may be the picture or the lighting but it appears that your body language shows that you like the first dress more. The only reason I say this is that in the first dress you are really standing up proud and you look very confident. In the second your shoulders look more hunched over and your not standing up as straight. I really see the difference in your body from picture 2 vs. picture 6.

LOL sorry for the overanalyzing, I just wanted to mention what I first thought when I saw the pictures :)

So i got bored at work and I had actually tried on a few dresses like your #1, so here are some I found that are similiar that you may completely utterly be in love with. Try Maggie, Casablanca, and Mori Lee. Plus you can see pictures of real girls in the Maggie dresses to give you an idea! The first one I think is awesome =]
