Going into dress shopping, I knew I didn’t want 2 things. I didn’t want strapless or a poofy gown. Of course, the consultant put me in just that, and they didn’t look half bad. I’m convinced with the proper alterations, a strapless dress will have no chance of sliding down. Still on the fence about poofy, big dresses.
So here are my top 4, let me know what you think! I don’t know all the style numbers, but they are from Davids Bridal.
Dress 1: Maybe a Melissa Sweet??
(I really thought I wanted a simple dress like this one, flowy and simple. But my mom, sister and friends told me that it didn’t look bridal enough)
Dress 2 (Love the back of this one)
Dress 3 (also really liked the buttons down the back)
Dress 4 (the largest poof on the bottom of all 4 dresses)

Lizzy272: I personally love the first one (even though it is the most simple) I definitely think it’s bridal enough! I love that you can see the lace under the tulle on the skirt.

You look beautiful in all of them! I voted for two, cause I just love how that back looks!
Re strapless – don’t worry about them sliding down, they’re built and altered to stay comfy, so if you do go that way don’t fret!!

Gosh, you really do look beautiful in all of them! I think in comparison, I like #3 the least, but even in that I think you look gorgeous! For me personally, I like #1 and 4, but the keyhole back on #2 is pretty too! Haha, I am no help…

I couldn’t decide between 2 and 4 so I didn’t vote. If 4 had the neckline and back of 2 I would have voted for it for sure.

I voted for #2 because you really wear the dress, the dress doesn’t wear you, which I kind of think is the case in dress #4. Also I love how it goes from lace to chiffon. It looks so light, but classy and elegant

The only thing I don’t like about dress 2 is the neckline. I am not a fan of the sweet heart shape on the bust part

They’re all very pretty, but I like dress 2 best because of the deep sweetheart neckline. The other dresses all have flatter necklines, which don’t give your body as much shape and proportion as dress 2. But you could def alter the other dresses to have a deeper midboob dip. I think dress one would look esp nice with that alteration, better even than dress 2. Dress 3: the back buttons are nice, but I’m not crazy about the vertical lace lines.
Just as an aside, I don’t understand this concept of a wedding dress not being “bridal” enough. If those white, fully, lacy, be-trained dresses aren’t bridal, what exactly are they? Sporty? I got that remark a lot when trying on long white dresses and it still baffles me.

Lizzy272: i love dress 2 but i dont like the color- i think the chiffon should be the same color as the lace

#2 looks stunning on you 🙂 The others look pretty, but the second one was the only one to make me go “oooooh” haha if that makes any sense at all.

ohnatto: I tried on a dress similar to dress 1, but it has a sweetheart neckline

Lizzy272: love this last one you look phenomenal!

Lizzy272: 2 (I love that back and you look GORGEOUS!) then 4, 1, 3. I do like all of them, though and a simple dress looks no less bridal than any other. If you’re really concerned, you can always add a sash or even just dress it up with your hair accessories and jewelry. Go with what you LOVE. You only get one day out of your whole life and everyone will think you’re beautiful, no matter what, once you walk down that aisle. 🙂

I love dress 1 and the dress you just posted. Either of those would be my pick. They look great on you.

Lizzy272: I don’t like the way the first dress falls on you. The second dress, IMHO, is the nicest dress.
