This is my first post here, I bought my wedding dress almost a year ago from China, it is a lovely dress and doesn’t look like it came from China! My only problem is that I am regretting buying the silhouette. I am a bigger girl and the way the waist cuts me makes it look like I am trying to hide a pregnant belly or something! This is the dress:
I am wondering if anyone would think it is possible (and maybe give me a few tips) on how to make it have more of this silhouette:
It isn’t a major change and I am pretty nifty with a sewing machine/needle and thread. I just would love to know if anyone has done this sucessfully! I don’t want to ruin it since I only have three months until my wedding!
Thank you in advance.

MrsMatukutire: TBH i wouldnt try to change it – the shape is gorgeous! im plus size and went for a dress with a similar silhouette – i found it SUPER flattering. it nips in at exactly the right point to give a gorgeous hourglass waist. have you any pics with you in it?x

MrsMatukutire: yes, pics please. I tried on some similar silhouettes, and I actually agree with you. I felt like I had an abnormally large “pooch”.

Thankyou for replying ladies, I only have pictures of me from the back, which does look nice, the hoop I chose gives it more of a bell shape but the back isn’t where the issue is. I would take more but I have just moved countries and I am waiting for our stuff to get here (wedding dress included).
I agree with you though weird_bunny, I tried a dress on in a shop that was very similar to the one I bought and it was extremely flattering, I think on my chinese one the waistline is slightly higher than my waist and that is what is giving me the ‘pooch’ as hippopotamus said!

MrsMatukutire: Your dress is gorgeous! I’m wondering if it would help if you could take out a layer of tulle under your dress, to take out a bit of the poof?
