So I have the most amazing friend in the world who gave me her wedding dress gratis! It’s a Sottero Cambria and it’s brand new, never ever worn! I tried it on and the corset back keeps it up, but it definitely needs to be altered. It’s at least 3 sizes too big. Do you think that this can be done while maintaining the integrity of the gown?

You should check with a good local seamstress. Each dress is different. It could be easy or it could be nearly impossible. It would be hard to tell without being able to look at the dress inside and out and see it on you.

from the look of the dress, they should be able to take it in at the sides, though working around all the beading on the bodice may cost you more. Good luck!

Thank you. I definitely plan on taking it in. The only other problem is that I also plan to lose weight. My wedding is in 10 months and I’m currently a size 10 ! I hope to be back down to a size 7/8 or smaller by march. I guess I could always sell the dress. It’s literally brand new tags attached and I’m the only person to ever try it on, but I kinda feel wrong in the same light since this was a gift.
