I look at other brides in my dress but more often than not...start disliking it! It just looks different on me (and that is not meant in a cocky way at all).. it just requires a certain body type.
@MrsNeutrino - I completely understand what you mean! Not every dress is made for every body type. Of the few brides I have seen in my dress I think it looks better on some than on others for sure, but it just makes me excited seeing pics of it on "real brides"... :)
I've been trying to find pics of someone wearing mine...but have yet to come up with any! In some ways, I'm glad - it's apparently not a very popular designer - but, darn it! I want to see what accessories others have paired with it!
I stalked my dress for about 2 hours this morning. I was hoping to find a video of it, I wanted to see someone walking in it. No luck ):
@chel_c - That's a good thing! But I can see how it can be a little frustrating. I like to see what kind of veils/accessories others have worn with it as well. Maybe post on the board to see what accessories other bees think you should wear. I'm indecisive so I'm sure I will be asking for help with accessories as well!
Missed your reply @GreenDream! I haven't had any luck finding video either:/ But I will settle for the few pics I have and will have my MOH record me walk in it when I go for my fitting!!
Oh, that's a nice idea. Maybe upload your video in case other brides are looking for that same thing. The whole runway thing really appeals to me. I want to see what the skirt looks like when the hips are going, you know?
Oh yes, I definately do that. The stock photos really don't give me a good idea of what it looks like on a bride at a wedding, how other people would see it.
I totally stalk my dress!! I always try to find pics of other brides in it. I agree with MrsNeutrino though that some brides look better in dresses than others - sometimes when I find pics of brides in my dress I feel like I love it and I made the right choice; other times, it makes me start to have some serious dress regret because I don't think it looks great on that particular bride. Here's to hoping that, once mine comes in and it is fitted to me, that I am one of the brides that I think looks good in it! haha.
When I first bought my dress I had awful quality pictures. I spent hours stalking it online trying to find better pictures. Then I started to get dress regret because I didn't think that I looked that good in it! All of that dress regret is gone now, I went and took photos again with a real camera so now I just starte at myself in the sample dress lol
Oh, man, I wish I could...I cannot find anyone wearing mine!! UGHH!
So glad to know I'm not alone. I am a super indesicive individual and this is actually the second dress I purchased (the first one I purchased was the very first one I tried on, the very first time I went dress shopping ... needless to say emotions + emotions = not so good dress purchase!)...lol. Anyhow, I read a post from another bee once that made me totally realize that the dress is all about how YOU feel in it:) There are millions of dresses out there, but I know my dress is perfect for me:) Looking at it on others just helps me get an idea of things to pair it with, how ivory the ivory really is etc.
Am I sounding stalkerish yet? Lol.
Don't doubt your purchases BEES, I'm sure you will all look amazing!!
I've tried to find a pic of another real bride in my gown; however, my dress was discontinued a few weeks after I ordered mine, so I don't think I'll ever have a chance to see anyone other than myself and the designer's model in that design.
I do this ALL THE TIME. I'm pretty sure I've seen every bride that openly has my dress and posted it on the internet.
I do it ALL THE TIME! I'm pretty sure I've scrolled through every page of google images. I've definitely done the preownedweddingdresses, oncewed, and recycledbride pages too. I just get so excited!
I did see one where they altered the dress I'm getting and it looked awful, which scared me. It convinced me not to change the bust line though so I guess there was good in it too.
Yay! Yay! Keep em' coming
@itshouldsnow - Being able to see different dress alterations is definitely a plus when it comes to dress stalking... bustline alterations, hemlines, bustles, not to mention accessories -- sash or no sash, veil length, jewelry. It takes a lot of the guess work out for sure!!
Yup, I search for it allll the time. There are only a few other pictures of it, so I'm always hoping for more. I also stalk my venue, and have Google Alerts set up so I'm emailed whenever a new web page mentions my venue.
Awesome idea Miss Great Dane! Never thought to set up Google alerts for my venue - which I too stalk all the time! :)
Me!!! I've had the best luck going to Google, clicking on More, then clicking on Even More, and finding the Blog Search icon. Then it only searches blogs for your dress. But yes, I'm a serious dress stalker!
I do this from time to time, but the thing that sucks for me is that I just cannot find any pics of my dress on 'real' brides. I've only been able to find pics of ONE bride wearing it from recycledbride.com. The only other pics of my dress on a human are the designer model pictures!! I wish more brides wore mine, becasue I'd love to look at it more often!
@ebet24: Thanks for the tip--I just found a new-to-me pic of my dress this way!
Sigh. I think I need a 12-step program.
I had no idea you could search blogs only in this way! Thanks for posting that.
Also, I'll admit to "stalking" my dress as well. I have found a couple brides wearing my gown and it gets me so excited. I had luck finding my dress by searching it on Pinterest.
@ebet24 - I just looked for my dress using your blog tip and A LAS! I came across another bride wearing my dress on StyleMePretty which I absolutely love because they have tons and tons of pictures!!
Score! Thanks for the tip!! ;)
@LittleRiver: Haha...I immediately went and tried the same thing! No luck...still havnt found any real bride pro pics of my dress. And....I keep stalking ANY dresses. Glad I'm not the only one!!
I would if I could- I have only found 2 brides on the Bee with my dress, no actual weddings yet.

Google has been both a blessing and a curse for me! Are there any other brides out there willing to admit that they spend a ridiculous amount of time looking at pictures of other brides in their dress??? I have stalked preownedweddingdresses, recycledbride, oncewed, and everything in between to find images of brides in my dress and I can't help but fall in love with it over and over again!
Blame it on the fact that I can't try it on every time I think about it! Any other brides do this???
