@MzLee:  Wedding favors are something that are give or take. If you want something that everyone will like I would say go with candy. Most people forget to even take their favors anyway.

I agree that edible gifts are the best. Honestly, if it’s not in your budget, I don’t think anyone will miss not getting a favor.

We’re going with something small & edible.  Honestly, one of the favours I received that I really enjoyed was a bunch of hershey’s kisses wrapped in tulle and tied with a ribbon and homemade thank you tag with the couple’s name on it.  I plan to do something similar.

We’re doing a candy bar ourselves.  I used coupons to buy the glass jars and got a few things off of Ebay.  Then I found cute goodie bags and thank you stickers that were pretty reasonable.  It also helps with the dessert part of the reception. We are doing cake, but it will give people more options!

We’re doing two small boxes, and I’m making a stamp to put on the top of them. One will say “hugs and kisses from the mr. and mrs.”, and inside will be a hershey kiss and hug. The other is going to say “come on baby, light my fire” and we’re putting a tealight and book of mtches in there. We’re doing about 90 of each kind so everyone can get one of each.

Cost:

*192 boxes $26

*stamps $10 each

*matchbooks $25/100 [it’ll say “the perfect match” with a picture of a flame on it, and our wedding date]

*hugs and kisses…$20?

*candles were I think about $8 for 100 at target

Total per favor with matches: $0.63

Total per favor with hersheys: $0.47

Not bad, overall. It’ll be something small to say thank you, and the matchbooks will have our date on them. Works for us!

You totally don’t have to do favors, it won’t offend anyone! I love the idea of purchasing cheap gift boxes and ribbon and putting Lindt truffles or hersheys in the boxes!
