I would not use the wine stoppers, love the wine idea, but for the non drinkers, either gift would not work.

i received a bottle of wine for my bridal shower. we don’t drink wine, so it remains unopened.

i received a wine stopper as a favor at a wedding a few years ago. it’s very pretty, but i haven’t used it. i left it behind at my parents house.

if i had to choose one of those, i’d choose the bottle of wine.

Definitely the wine! If they don’t drink it, they will still appreciate the thought and someone else can have it.

@Miss_AshNicole:  There willmost likely be people who don’t like wine. But, you can’t make everyone happy no matter what you do, so pick something you love that represents you and your SO

I think the wine is better but I think replacing the label is a bad idea.  Anyone who is into wine would want to know what the wine really is- otherwise they’d just assume it was plonk.  Also, an engraved stopper would probably go to Goodwill unless you were my BFF or sibling.  I don’t want your name or wedding date in my kitchen drawers.  If it said LOVE or something.. it would depend if I liked how it looked.  Functional is better than weddingy imo.

Something I think would be a great favor along the same lines is a champagne stopper- they go around the outside of the bottle rather than sticking inside like a normal stopper, and they have a little crank to keep the pressure in.  I currently don’t drink but I use it all the time for glass soda bottles (like italian soda or whatever) and we have used it for regular wine too to keep an airtight seal.  The Metrokane Champagne stopper is the one I have and it’s amazing.

I like the wine idea, except I would 100% want to know what I was drinking – would your custom labels include that?  If not, maybe you should just buy cases of the same wine, so your custom label would indicate what kind of wine it is more easily, plus you can often get discounts for buying in bulk.  I voted for the wine stoppers, though, because it’s a little less risky…

My best friend did wine with custom labels for her wedding last year. A bunch ofpeople left it behind because it wasn’t something they liked to drink. I took mine and Fi’s home, and a year and a half later, they’re still in the pantry unopened.

If you did bottle stoppers, maybe you could do something like bottle stoppers for the ladies, bottle openers for the men. Or wine glass charms rather than bottle stoppers?

@Miss_AshNicole:  You could have bottles of wine but then something else for non-drinkers. You probably know your guests so you can plan accordingly. Maybe some of the wineries have a nice sparkling grape juice you can give to the non-drinkers?

@Miss_AshNicole:  It’s also something that most people don’t have already- whereas pretty much everyone has a wine stopper from a favor or one of those cheapy rubber ones.
