I am planning on giving a little stalk of lucky Bambu with a little envelope attached that has a $1 scratch off in it. That way it's a LUCK theme and it's fun too! The site that I plan on buying the stalks of bambu from is:
http://www.natureperfect.com/shop/bamboo_sticks_3.html
I don't know if the picture will load? But if you look at theknot.com you'll see!
Good luck!!
We are doing Christmas ornaments -- my family has a tradition of always picking up an ornament when traveling. While decorating our tree we reflect on good times past. I love our tradition and wanted to share that with our guests. (I am fairly certain all of our guests are from Christian backgrounds).
The ornaments are western themed (getting married in the mountains of Idaho). We're going to include a note as well as something personalized to the ornaments (our initials?). Still on my to do list.
Good luck!
We're doing scratch tickets too - I ordered the glassine envelopes from Ebay and labels from Vista Print. Sort of like this:

We did chocolate bars with personalized wrappers. People loved them, and we got a great deal on price. If you go here: http://wrappedhersheys.com/ you can see everything they offer.
Here's a tip: scroll to the bottom of the webpage and sign up for the free email offers. The first thing they send you is a coupon for 20% off, which will cover shipping costs (shipping on these is kind of expensive) on your wedding order!
I've heard that people like edible favors the best - and there wasn't a single chocolate bar left on any of our tables!
we are doing 6 oz jars of homemade jam.....from a local orchard/produce farm in our area. We chose that over DIY luggage tags
We're doing potted ferns. Just little 3 inch pots but they'll be wrapped in polka dot fabric tied with a bow. :) Gotta get started on that! We're getting them from our florist.
We are using personalized packets of wildflower seeds. Since I teach botany, it seemed a natural fit. Plus I am not patient or crafty enough to assemble little bags or boxes and bows and things.
We are doing personalized shot glasses with jordan almonds. We have a huge shot glass collection in our home and thought this spoke perfectly for us as a couple. The jordan almonds will be an added treat with sentimental meaning as well.
We are also doing shot glasses with love quotes and the date, (some funny some sweet - as a conversation starter) and they will be sitting at the places with a note rolled up inside thanking each guest for sharing our wedding day with us. Now i just need to actually finish them and put the dang quotes on there haha!
We're having individually-packaged, heart-shaped sugar cookies. I figured I couldn't go wrong with something sweet, especially with so many kids attending.
We are making a donation to Make a Wish. At my friends wedding they gave out wedding glasses and I never used mine so wanted to do something that would get use and what better than something for children. We have a small child so it just seemed the way to go.
We're giving out huge chocolate chip cookies that are in clear packaging with a fold over card/label.... they're cute, inexpensive & who doesn't enjoy a cookie?!
You can never, ever go wrong with edible favors. Truthfully your guests aren't as sentimental about your date as you are & they will most likely toss a favor that is a little knick-knack or engraved with your date.
Where did you find the personalized shot glasses? That's definitely an idea I never thought about. And how much did it cost?
You can find the shot glasses along with all sorts of other glasses, mugs, pens, etc... at discountmugs.com
For a 144 personalized shot glasses + shipping was right under $200.
We made a donation in everyone's name that attended our wedding to a Family House that houses sick people & their families while the ill recuperate. Another great idea is if you are a animal lover..you can make a donation to the humane society or a local animal rescue organization. My friend made their own wine, the grrom designed the labels...w/ their name & wedding date.(30 bottles for $150) Very cute idea. You can also do this in smaller (beer size bottles.. 60 bottles for $150) for shower gifts. Just check w/ local winery or cellar & see if they have wine making classes.
Keep seeing commercials for the personalized m&ms.....wonder if they are crazy expensive! Would be a cute idea, along the lines of the candy bar.
My fiance and I have been debating the same thing for a while now. Even though we aren't 100% sure we know we are doing something edible. From all the posts I've read throughout the last few months it seems to be the most popular.
We are using non-personalized handfans. As we are having an outdoor/lodge with no air reception. Two birds, one stone. Actually more like three birds, one stone, since we will be putting them in wooden baskets decked up with ribbon as decor too.
I'm doing flip-flops and I'm still deciding on little bottles of tequila! We are getting married in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta), so I found these personalized flip-flops that are so cute! www.partyflops.com
We're doing either cookies or cupcakes - each come in a box with ribbon and personalized card. Very cute and elegant at the same time. And edible -the best part!

What are you all doing for wedding favors? Can you post pics and where I can find these items? I only have 2 months before the wedding and haven't found anything I really like.
