know that the whole “rustic” thing is in right now, vintage, whatever you want to call it. I simply just call it country. When i think of burlap and mason jars. I think of the good old country.
So with further ado, im having a country themed wedding. Not just because I like the country theme but I was born and raised in the south. I grew up in the country, living on an old dirt road and mason jars did have a role in my life, my grandma canned every year (she still does till this day, just not as much) and I remember sitting in her living room watching her sweat over that steaming hot pressure cooker, with her tshirt sleaves rolled up to her shoulders and her hair pulled back. So i believe the country, rustic, vintage theme suits me and plus I would have never thought those old canning jars that my grandma used every summer would ever become so popular with decorating. Ive busted alot of those jars in when i was younger and my grandma busted my butt right along with them!!
Even though I’m not engaged….YET. My SO and I are very serious and I already know he plans to pop THE question before this year is over. (he let it slip )
So i did what i think every female does and i started fantisizing about the wedding, what it will look like, Ive gone to a few weddings and every one of them were gorgeous and I came to a conculsion that even though the rustic/country look is the “in” thing right now and is very popular amongst weddings, I couldnt help fall into the clutches of burlap and mason jars.
As I got to doing more research on this particular theme, i realized that there arent very many wedding favors that goes with this theme, that i could find. The only thing that i really found was the jam or honey in the little bitty jars, with some sort of saying or quote on them, which im not really a fan of those items.
The other thing that i found were, miniture milk jars along with corks. I liked those and I thought i could fill those with candy.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, maybe DIY wedding favors that you came up with for your “rustic” wedding?
