not real sure how the FI got this idea in his head but he thinks it would be fun, interesting, and unique if we somehow incorporated a fist bump (with explosion of course!) into our ceremony either before we kiss or at the end... sigh ... how do they come up with these things?
If my FI heard about this, he'd be all over it!
What kind of explosion would you have exactly? haha I'd save it for AFTER the kiss :)
if I were you, I'd do it when the minister says "man and wife", with wicked little grins on your face, and then let your hands melt together as he pulls you in for the kiss.

Miss V, you know how guys will hit their fists together sometimes? Instead of shaking hands or high fiving or whatever? That's a fist bump ~ literally bumping fists. :)
Not telling my FI this! He's already trying to weave in lightsabers (heaven help me) into our entrance to the reception!
Ha, we're actually doing this! He's even choreographed it, so that I don't fluff it up.
And yup, it's with the explosion as well, and a head turn. Right on.
FI would be all over this - I love it.

I would veto that idea! just because it is totally not me and I feel dumb everytime we do it :)
Hahaha! This sounds like something my FH would do. Maybe have him and your dad do it if he is giving you away, lol.
If it's something you guys do, then do it!!! I think it's cute!! :) And your man's excited about it! That's too cute! My FI thinks/hopes the vows are just "I do". I'm like, there's a little more to it than that.....

My husband abuses high fiving and fist bumping. He does it all the time as a response to every little thing.
I was going to surprise him and find a cake topper where the couple was high fiving or fist bumping but it would have to be custom and I didn't have enough time.
Hahahahaha!!!! Guys are too cute and funny. I would totally do it if my FI wanted me to just because he is so cute when he comes up with an idea for the wedding. This is one of those things that you may just have to give into. I'm definitely NOT telling my FI this though!
I think it would be cute - let him have it - do it after the kiss - I have seen high fives before and thought it was adorable - it shows kinda like you are a team!
@Mrs Martin - exactly!! The team thing is what we're going for, with ours. Everytime we do something really stupid together - take out the trash, whatever... we fist bump or high five and sing "that's effin' teamwork!!" (part of a Tenacious D song). Lol!
...a "pound" a la the Obamas huh? LOL! That's a new one during a wedding ceremony but if your FI wants to do it...roll with it.
It could be worse... it could be the stomach bump!!!! lol where you jump in the air and it your tummy's together. lol.
Yeah I wasn't trying to attract anymore attention to myself during the ceremony and I was already nervous enough trying to not mess up my lines so good thing there was no fist bumping for me but I think it would be hysterical at someone else's. It's gotta be choreographed just right though.
My hubby wanted to do something ridiculous during our first dance though. That went horribly wrong. It was supposed to be funny but it was more like *cricket, cricket* Sigh, oh well!
I think it sounds adorable!!! It would be great either right before or right after the kiss. You could also do it right before your exit. Aren't the things that boys come up with just crazy??

@Redeemed haha we have tried the stomach bump before, but I end up flying across the room and landing on my butt... that would not be a good way to kick off the party :) So yea thankfully that hasnt crossed his mind

This post is so funny! That's such a guy thing, they're so silly. However, this is what my step father and I have decided to do instead of a fake hug. He's walking me down the aisle but I can count the number of times he's hugged me (in 17 years) on one hand, so why fake the funk now? It's not our thing but a fist bump works. Should be kinda funny actually. I say you should do it :)

FI and I fist bump all the time! It was never something I had thought about doing during the wedding though...but hmmmmm?

LOL i was thinking of doing a fist bump with my SISTER who is MOH after he actually said "i do" ya know? or even a "raise the roof" LMAO

Oh yay, I totally forgot about this thread!
We had planned to do the fist bump with head turn and explosion, but the hubs forgot about it once we were on stage!
So we did it when we were announced at the reception, instead! :)
I love that I idea! I think that would be hilarious and really show your personalities!
We do a fist bump at work when we want to say "I love you" but there are too many people around!!! Love this idea!
