Can any wedding bee-ers help decide what we should have for our wedding food?food
For mains we were thinking of a choice of pies (chicken/steak/veg/fish) and sides (chips/mash/veg). My mum says that sounds revolting, inappropriate and people will hate it! What do you think?
For pudding we were thinking of giving people just the wedding cake. Is that enough or should we have a starter also, and/or another pudding?
In the evening we thought we would have pork baps, a candy bar and the Groom’s cake (a cheese selection).
Do people think that this sounds like enough food for a whole day? Our wedding breakfast will be at 4pm and the bar closes at midnight, so its quite a long day but we’re on a bit of a tight budget, so we don’t want to spend more than we have to!
Also, does it sound tasty enough? Who out there agrees with my mum that people will be disappointed and will expect something else?

I’m not sure what a few of the selections are (like pork baps) but I’ll give what input I can. I’m not sure how tradition is where you are at but I’ve never seen French Fries (chips, right?) at a wedding before, unless it was sort of a carnival themed wedding. I think that you have enough food selected and I think the meat pies and mashed potatoes and vegetables sounds freakin delicious. Maybe consider throwing in a vegetarian option?

Also just keep in mind that presentation is EVERYTHING! You can put anything on the tables and make them classy enough for a wedding if you present it right. Make sure the food is at varying heights and there are decorations on the food tables and it will look beautiful, I’m sure.

I see nothing wrong with the menu, however i would remove the french fries, dont think it goes with the other foods being served
Since you already have mash which is potato, you could do some pasta or another vegetable dish
