Oh man! There is no need to stress yet!  Mountain weather is SO unpredicible, and normally (at least here in the CO rockies) a 50% chance of rain means a 10-20min rain shower between 3-6pm, clouds (which are wonderful for photos) and then sunshine.

I would totally get some cute umbrellas, a dog rain coat (we have one… it’s adorable…) and cross your fingers!!

FWIW, i am also getting married in the mountains next august (breckenridge, co). i’m worried about the unpredictible weather since my main goal is to have it outside… but hey! whaddaya gonna do!

inthemountains:  That was exactly how our forecasts were in the 10 days before. 0% to 80% the actual day of. Rained for about the 4 hours before our outdoor wedding. It finally cleared up just enough to have the ceremony close to when we originally intended. We did have a backup plan in the event that it rained through the ceremony time, but it would not have been ideal, IMO. The humidity ruined my hair, which I’m still really upset about due to photos. However, we got married and all was well… Oh, and it’s supposed to be good luck. So, there’s that, I guess. ;P

It’s just the risk of having an outdoor wedding. If we could go back, we would have done it in the fall or had both ceremony/reception indoors.

I can understand being disappointed if it rains, but I’d buy some cute umbrellas and just roll with it. It’s not what you expected, but it might give you an opportunity for some dramatic photos. I’ve seen soooo many beautiful photos of couples in the rain!

oh that is so awesome!! i am a little jealous, we were going to do that but decided on breck due to there being more housing/accomodations for all of our out of town guests.  it will be gorgeous rain or shine!  and if you’re eloping and don’t hae to worry about guests, there REALLY is no reason to fret!  i can’t wait to see some photos!

We had 100% chance of rain for ours…and it still didn’t rain, haha. I think it may have rained in the early morning but it was all rained out by the time we had our ceremony. Personally, I almost wish it had because rain wedding pictures are just about the most amazing things ever!

I wouldn’t worry, one way or the other I am sure you will get some stunning photos!

For what it’s worth….it was calling for 60% chance of THUNDERSHOWERS the DAY OF our wedding, and it was sunny, hot and not a drop of rain!! Anything can happen, try not to stress (:
