I’m getting married this Saturday (15th) at a botanic garden so stressed and upset and checking the weather like mad but it’s still says it will be raining on Saturday, i know I can’t do anything to help it. I live in South Australia so November is the last month of spring. We chose it because it’s normally less risky for rain. The weather is funny ranges from hot to cold, tues to thurs this week is low to mid 30s (Celsius) then Friday to Sunday are 18-20 rain. Im just praying it will change again. We do have a backup inside venue for ceremony which is at our reception venue but I’m stressing no one will know where to walk because we haven’t and likely wont have time to get everyone together for a rehearsal. I guess I’ll have to keep checking the weather and contact the vendors later this week to warn then make final decision Saturday morning.
My fiancé and I always used to go to the botanic gardens when we started dating and it means a lot to us and also upsets me if is raining it’s unlikely we can take photos here 🙁 sorry if I sound ridiculous. I’ve had a lot of other issues happening at the moment, health and family and now this is putting a cherry on top of what’s meant to be my perfect day. I know i will still be married to the love of my life.

Miss.E.91: oh sweetie. I know exactly how you feel – I’ve been there. I posted a thread saying exactly the same and lots of bees gave me great advice and encouragement. You can find it through my profile. We had storms forecast all day a few days before our garden wedding, but in the end it rained in the morning and then a light shower or two in the evening, but was dry all through the middle of the day. My advice – buy a cheap batch of umbrellas! That way you’re prepared and have peace of mind that if it does rain your guests can still have a good time And explore the gardens a bit. Sounds like you have a back up plan too. Congratulations and good luck! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! 🙂

Thanks will take a look. I’m feeling like I’m having a lot of bad luck and my wedding is somewhat doomed. Thats a good idea might pop out later and have a look for some umbrellas. My fiancé keeps telling me that it won’t rain and if it does it could only rain early morning and clear up like you said. We are having a 12pm ceremony though. The weather seems to be changing 4 times a day on what is probably the most reliable source (chance of rain and mm amount)

- Wedding: November 2014 - backyard
Congratulations bee:) on your wedding. I also have a garden wedding in less than 2 weeks and have been checking the weather like crazy, you not alone. I have told myself what will happen will happen, and have a rough plan b in my mind. Too late to change much now, I suggest you plan an intimate dinner with your FI to remind yourself of what is really important at the end of day. Come the 15th, rain or no rain, you will be married. All the best.

MrsKay23Nov: thank you. I was praying that when I woke up this morning that the weather would have changed but it’s still 19 celsius, possible showers, medium (60%) chance of showers most likely in the morning and afternoon, then underneath says 5-10mm rain 80% chance. our ceremony spot is reserved from 12pm-2pm With ceremony beginning at 12:30pm.
I just still can’t help but be devestated and I’m stressing about having to text all the guests, the invitation does say that if weather does not permit they will be contacted via text message

First of all you should have people help you text out the info if need be – many hands make light work!
i got married at a garden. Our outdoor ceremony was tented so it was ok that we had showers off and on during the day. Leading up to the wedding I was really disappointed that I wasn’t going to have the sunny day I imagined. But then I just decided that it WAS going to rain and that was ok. i bought super cute umbrellas for the bridal party and we took pictures with them even tho it wasnt really raining. And now that I have my photos back, I’m glad it was cloudy bc the light is beautiful! And the temp wasnt too hot.
it’ll be fine! dont worry!

raspberrymojito: just letting you know the rain held off until half way through our photos, thankfully I bought umbrellas for everyone as it poured! however we did get stuck in a glasshouse in the botanic gardens for an hour while my father in law went to the wedding cars to get the umbrellas.
