Wedding Getting Ready Robe Help!!

    Cruzin4436:  I got cotton robes for my June 28th wedding.  I wore mine for getting ready for my bridals and I am so happy with my decision.  It’s hot here in the South and the cotton didn’t make me sweat or stick to my skin.  Totally breathable.  I got mine in a slightly longer length to assure modesty and they are thick enough that they aren’t see-through, even my white/pink one.  I’m honestly not sure how the silk/satin are, but like I said, I’m happy about my choice and they are beautiful!!!

    Cruzin4436:  I’d go with cotten. I like the look of satin robes, but personally I don’t find them practical (they don’t stay put very well, don’t cover as well, stick to me if I’m still wet or sweaty)…. I used to have one of each until I realized while I had been using the cotton one daily, I hadn’t touched the satin/silk one for nearly a year..

    I got satin robes for my girls – I thought it sounded more luxurious than cotton and not something they are likely to buy for themselves.  Hope they work out!  I got mine from Kohls btw.

    I would feel a little weird wearing a silk/satin robe in front of other people – it feels more like slinky lingerie to me than cotton. I also think those floral cotton robes photograph beautifully.

    I’d say go with cotton. More breathable, more comfortable, easier to wash. Also, DANG, those robes are beautiful! I love the robe idea, especially (perhaps only) when it doesn’t have “BRIDESMAIDZ!!” in pink rhinestones across the back.

    I agree with baileyjosephine.  Im getting satin for my bridesmaids. I’m wearing a white satin “Bride” robe, so I want them to match, fabric wise. I have been looking for knee length for them, which are somewhat difficult to find. The pics I have seen are really cute with the bride in white and the bridesmaids in a wedding color. Looking forward to our “getting ready” photos.

    I got a satin robe as a bridesmaid gift for getting ready photos and although they photograph beautifully I dont find it very comfortable. I wear a  robe everyday our if the shower and while getting ready and always opt for my cotton robe over the satin one I received. Satin seems to stick to your skin when you are  damp or warm.
